❤️ Could your pet’s breathing tell you something about their heart? Absolutely.

Heart disease in pets can show up as an increase respiratory rate even before you notice other obvious signs.

🐾 An easy way to check:
When your pet is **sound asleep**, watch their chest rise and fall. Count the number of breaths they take in 30 seconds and multiply by 2 to get their breaths per minute.

If you notice that your pet’s resting respiratory rate is **consistently higher than 30 breath per minute or you see coughing, difficulty breathing, weakness, or decreased ability to exercise, please reach out to your veterinarian.

💚 A few seconds of observation at home can provide valuable information about your pet’s health!
