Hacking on a loose rein? Don’t wait for a spook, bolt or buck to get organized or hit the ground! 👀🐴

A 1/2 bridge in your reins is a simple riding habit that lets your horse relax while keeping you ready to respond. This is how I hold the reins when hacking and why it’s wildly safer.

A little preparation goes a long way—even on a quiet walk.
