💔 $5 Friday: Help Our Heartworm Positive Dogs Heal 💔

This is what heartworm treatment looks like.

Gucci went in this week for her first round of painful heartworm injections. Next month, she has to go back for two more.

This treatment is hard on their bodies. It is painful, uncomfortable, and requires months of strict activity restriction because too much movement can cause serious, even life-threatening complications.

Gucci didn’t deserve this. None of our heartworm positive dogs do.

Heartworm disease is preventable, but once they are positive, treatment is long, expensive, and heartbreaking to watch them go through.

And right now, we have 10 dogs in rescue undergoing heartworm treatment. That is almost a quarter of the dogs currently in our care.

Left untreated, heartworm disease can cause lasting damage, severe illness, and even death.

The heartbreaking part? It can be prevented with a simple monthly heartworm preventative.

For a rescue, heartworm treatment can cost anywhere from $600 to $1,000 per dog, depending on the size of the dog and severity of the disease. As a private client, you could easily pay double that.

With 10 heartworm positive dogs in care, this is a major medical expense for our small, volunteer-powered rescue.

🙏🏼This $5 Friday, we are asking for your help. Just $5 can help provide medication, treatment, follow-up care, and the support these dogs need to finally heal and move forward into the healthy lives they deserve.

And please, if you love your dogs, keep them on monthly heartworm prevention. No dog should have to go through this.

🐾 Donate today to help our heartworm positive dogs through treatment.

🐶Love rescue dogs? Want hands-on experience in social media, digital marketing, and nonprofit rescue work?

Braveheart Bulliez Rescue is looking for a motivated, organized, and proactive Volunteer Social Media / Digital Intern to help our adoptable dogs get seen, shared, and adopted.

This is a great opportunity for a college student home for the summer, a marketing or communications student, or anyone who wants to build real-world experience while making a real impact for rescue dogs.

What you’ll help with:
🐾Collecting photos, videos, and updates from fosters
🐾Sorting and organizing dog media and information
🐾Updating adoption profiles with fresh photos and details
🐾Helping identify which dogs need new content or profile updates
🐾Assisting with social media scheduling from time to time
🐾Supporting event, foster, adoption, and fundraising content as needed

You might be a great fit if you are:
🐾Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
🐾Proactive and comfortable asking for what you need
🐾A strong communicator
🐾Comfortable with Google Drive, social media, and basic digital tools
🐾Passionate about animal rescue
🐾Interested in social media, marketing, communications, or nonprofit work

🙏🏼Bonus points if you’re in the Atlanta area and can occasionally attend adoption events, fundraisers, or volunteer meetups to help capture content of our dogs in action.

This is a volunteer internship with a flexible commitment of about 3–5 hours per week. You’ll gain hands-on experience while directly helping rescue dogs get the visibility they need to find foster and forever homes. Start ASAP through beginning of August.

Interested?📩Send us a message with a little bit about yourself, your availability, and why you’d love to help Braveheart Bulliez Rescue.

🚨‼️URGENT: Rolo has nowhere to go.🚨‼️

After going to a temporary foster this weekend, Rolo was supposed to return to his full-time foster, but she has now ghosted us and we are left scrambling with no placement for him.

The timing could not be worse. Rolo has his 2 final heartworm treatments tomorrow and Friday, and he cannot go to boarding during treatment. He urgently needs a calm foster home where he can safely rest and recover.

Rolo has been in rescue since last fall. He survived severe pneumonia, worked hard to regain his strength, and has made it so far. He is so close to finally getting through this chapter.

Please do not let this sweet boy fall through the cracks now.

He is crate trained, leash walks well, loves people, and needs a foster who can keep him calm and separated from other dogs during recovery.

We need a foster for Rolo immediately.
🙏🏼Please message us right away if you can help.

✨ This is your (on a Tuesday🤣) to be the reason a rescue dog gets their next chapter. ✨

Last week, we took in 7 dogs in 7 days. This week, we’re being asked to take another 5 more.

But the reality is - we cannot take in any more dogs until we have fosters for the dogs in our care.

Fostering saves lives. It gives a dog a safe place to land, time to decompress, and the chance to show who they really are outside of boarding or the shelter system.

Right now, we have several dogs who need foster homes or foster takeovers. Some need structure. Some need patience. Some just need someone to say, “I’ve got you.”

Meet a few of our dogs looking for their next chapter on the journey to forever home:

🐾 Reese
4 years old, dog friendly with slow introductions, good with older kids, no cats.

🐾 Titan
Dog and kid friendly, and he did well with his cat test!

🐾 Jet
Big dog and kid friendly, no cats. Needs an experienced foster who can help him work on crate training and separation anxiety.

🐾 Mary Martin
Smart, athletic, and ready to bond with her person. No young kids and must be the only pet in the home.

🐾 Nala
Non-reactive to dogs, older kids only, and needs a foster experienced with working breeds.

🐾Hodges and Paisley
5-6 month old puppies, dog and kid friendly!

You don’t have to be perfect to foster. You just have to be willing to open your home, follow guidance, and give a dog the stability they need while they wait for forever.

We provide support. You provide the safe place.

Interested in learning more about these dogs or what fostering looks like?

Comment FOSTER and we’ll send you more info.💛

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom is never free. It was paid for by heroes who gave everything, and by the families who carry their memory forward every single day.

As a rescue, we talk often about second chances, freedom rides, and lives saved. Today, we hold space for a deeper kind of gratitude. Because the freedoms we have, the communities we serve, and the ability to keep fighting for the voiceless are possible because of those who served and never came home.

To the fallen heroes, thank you.
To their families, we remember with you.
And to all who are grieving someone who gave everything, we honor them today and always.

From all of us at Braveheart Bulliez Rescue, we wish you a meaningful Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

This sweet girl was found dumped on the street last fall, sitting by the curb with one of her favorite toys, waiting for the family she once had to come back.

They never did.

But Riri is safe now, and this low-riding little bully mix is ready for the forever family she deserves.

Riri is about 1.5 years old, medium energy, crate trained, walks well on leash, loves other dogs, and is good with kids. She also looks great in pink, obviously. 💅

She’s sweet, social, and ready to trade being left behind for being loved forever.

Interested in adopting her? Message “RIRI” and we’ll send you more information and an application. 💖

7 DAYS. 7 DOGS. 7 LIVES CHANGED.
Now they need your help on $5 Friday.

A week ago, we reopened intake, and in just that week, we said yes to 7 dogs.

🧡Sanrio was saved from the urgent list at DeKalb.
🧡Shayla was saved from the urgent list at Bartow.
🧡Quanny was saved from the urgent list at DeKalb.
🧡Maple and her two tiny pups were rescued from the streets of Cook County, where there is no animal control.
🧡Rex came to us as an owner surrender when he needed somewhere safe to land.

That is one dog every single day.

For a small, foster-based, volunteer-powered rescue like ours, that is a lot. But when the need is this urgent, how do we look away?

Now the real work begins.

These dogs need vet care.
3 need heartworm treatment.
Some still need to be spayed or neutered.
They need vaccines, preventatives, food, supplies, fosters, transport, and the kind of care that gives them a real chance at forever.

💸For this $5 Friday, please consider making a donation to help us continue showing up for the dogs who have nowhere else to go.

Please donate today and help us keep saying yes. 🧡

We’re excited to partner with PetSmart Charities for their Adopt Joy event this Saturday! 🐾💙

Join Braveheart Bulliez Rescue this Saturday, May 23 from 12–2pm at PetSmart in Alpharetta and meet some of our adoptable cuties who are ready to bring a little more joy into the right homes.

Adoption events like this help give rescue dogs the visibility they need to find their people, and we’re so grateful to be part of a day centered around celebrating adoption, second chances, and the joy pets bring into our lives.

Want to help make the day a success? We’re looking for event volunteers and a little help transporting a couple additional dogs so they can join us.

Come meet the dogs, learn more about adopting or fostering, and help us Adopt Joy this weekend! 🐶✨

It’s $2 Tuesday, and today we’re asking you to show up for the dogs who need a little more than a second chance.

Sanrio, Nala, and Reese are all currently in training because adoption doesn’t always happen the moment a dog leaves the shelter.

Sometimes they need structure.Sometimes they need confidence.Sometimes they need help learning how to exist in the world outside of survival mode.

And we believe they deserve that chance.

Sanrio starts training this week after nearly 300 days in the shelter and an 11th hour save. We still need to raise $250 to cover his program.

Nala has been working hard in training for several weeks, learning the structure and guidance she needs to thrive. We still need to raise $1,000 for her.

Reese finishes training this weekend, and we’re still $600 short of covering her final balance.

These are not “easy” saves. But easy has never been our mission.

We don’t pull dogs just to leave them stuck. We don’t give up when they need more.We don’t leave the ones who need training, patience, and support behind.
We give them what they need to thrive.

Today, $2 can help Sanrio, Nala, and Reese keep moving forward on their path to adoption. If enough people give just a little, it adds up to the second chance they’ve been working so hard for.

Please donate $2 today and help us keep saying yes to the dogs who need us most.
