🇺🇸🐾 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: HONORING OUR VETERANS & THE PETS WHO LOVE THEM! ❤️

Today, we celebrate National Pets for Veterans Day—a reminder of the incredible bond between veterans and their four-legged companions. 🐶🐱

Pets offer comfort on difficult days, companionship during quiet moments, and a kind of unconditional love that asks for nothing in return. And whether it’s a loyal dog waiting for a walk or a sweet kitty curled up beside you, that bond is something special. ❤️

🐾 One way we can return all that love? By caring for their health!

💚 Keep up with routine wellness exams and recommended screenings.
💚 Make year-round heartworm prevention part of your pet’s care routine. Just one infected mosquito bite can transmit heartworms to dogs and cats.
💚 Keep your pet’s preventive care personalized to their age, lifestyle, and individual needs.

🇺🇸 A SPECIAL OCTOBER REMINDER FROM CAC!

🐶 DOGS: Receive a FREE heartworm screening ($35 value) with the purchase of 12 months of Heartgard plus NexGard, NexGard Plus, or a ProHeart injection.

🐱 CATS: Receive a FREE nail trim with the purchase of NexGard COMBO.

Because the pets who give us so much love deserve thoughtful care, too! 🐾

From all of us at Chattahoochee Animal Clinic, thank you to our veterans for your service and sacrifice. Today, we celebrate you—and the wonderful pets who stand beside you. ❤️🤍💙

🐱❤️ Caturday: 9 Lives. One Heart. Protect Them All!

Cats are experts at making everything look fine. A little nap here, a stretch there, and maybe a dramatic request for dinner… 😹 But even the most pampered indoor kitty can face a hidden health risk.

🦟 **Heartworm disease isn't just a dog problem!**

Mosquitoes can carry heartworm larvae indoors, putting even indoor-only cats at risk. In cats, heartworm disease can cause respiratory problems that may look like asthma or other illnesses—and sometimes the first sign is sudden and severe.

Here's your Caturday reminder:

🐾 Indoor cats can still be bitten by mosquitoes.
🐾 Heartworm disease can be difficult to recognize in cats.
🐾 Prevention is the best way to help protect your feline family member.

💗 October is Heartworm Awareness Month, and we're here to help you find the right protection for your cat's needs.

🐱 **October Special at Chattahoochee Animal Clinic:** Get a FREE nail trim with the purchase of NexGard COMBO!

Because our kitties deserve more than nine lives' worth of love. They deserve protection, too. 🐾❤️

🐾💕 Furry Friend Friday: Meet Wren & Doug! 💕🐾

Some friendships are just too sweet to handle! 🥹❤️

Meet Wren, one of our biggest fans of the newest little addition to the CAC family—Doug, our adorable new kitten! 🐱 Wren was absolutely smitten, and this precious nose-to-nose moment says it all. 🐶💋🐱

Doug had quite the busy day, too! He was scooped up for cuddles by just about every team member (because, honestly, who could resist? 😻) and completed his very first kitten visit. He was one popular little guy!

🩺🐾 Kitten tip: Those early kitten visits do more than introduce your little one to the vet team. They help us monitor growth, screen for parasites, begin important vaccinations, and build positive experiences that can make future visits less stressful.

We can’t wait to see little Doug at his next kitten appointment and watch him grow! Welcome to the CAC family, sweet boy. 💙

Tell us in the comments: Are you Team Wren or Team Doug? We think this duo has already won our hearts! 🥰

🐾💚 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: A HEALTHY WEIGHT IS A BIG DEAL!💚🐾

Those extra treats, puppy-dog eyes, and late-night snack requests are hard to resist! 🥹 But when it comes to our furry family members, a little extra weight can add up.

🐶🐱 Pet Obesity Awareness Day is a great reminder that a healthy weight is about more than appearance. Maintaining a healthy body condition can help support mobility, comfort, and overall well-being throughout your pet’s life.

🔎 Try this simple at-home check!

👀 Look: Can you see a slight waist when viewing your dog or cat from above?

👏 Feel: Can you gently feel your pet’s ribs without pressing hard?

🧐Check: Does your pet have a natural tummy tuck behind the ribs when viewed from the side? Remember, a cat’s loose belly flap can be normal!

💚 Small changes can make a big difference:
🥣 Measure meals instead of guessing portions.
🦴 Keep treats in moderation and account for them in daily calories.
🎾 Make time for daily walks, interactive play, and enrichment.
⚖️ Monitor weight regularly and discuss changes with your veterinary team.

And remember, every pet is different! Breed, age, muscle condition, and individual health needs all matter. Your pet’s ideal weight and feeding plan should be tailored to them.

❤️ At Chattahoochee Animal Clinic, we're here to help your pets feel their best at every size and every stage of life. If you're unsure whether your furry family member is at a healthy weight, let's talk!

🐾 Monday Paw-spective 🐾

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
— Winston Churchill

Mom..Dad... I have a question…

Why do you let one bad day convince you that the whole week is ruined? 🤔

I can chase a ball, miss it completely, trip over my own paws, and still run back for another try.

No overthinking. No embarrassment. No dramatic review of everything I did wrong.

Just… throw it again! 🐶

Maybe that's your reminder for this Monday.

One mistake doesn't define you. One disappointment doesn't erase your progress. And one unexpected detour doesn't mean you're headed in the wrong direction.

Give yourself the same grace you'd give your favorite four-legged friend. Get back up, take a breath, and try again.

After all, there's usually another ball to chase and another reason to wag your tail. ❤️🐾

🐱🦟 Caturday: Indoor Cat, Outdoor Risk!

Your kitty may prefer a cozy windowsill to the great outdoors, but there's one uninvited guest that can still find its way inside… the mosquito! 😳

❤️ Did you know cats can get heartworm disease, too?

Even indoor-only cats can be bitten by infected mosquitoes and exposed to heartworms. And unlike dogs, cats can develop serious respiratory problems from heartworm disease—even when only a few worms are present.

Here's what every cat parent should know:

🐾 Indoor cats aren't automatically safe from mosquitoes.

🐾 Heartworm disease in cats can be difficult to recognize and diagnose.

🐾 There is no approved medication to eliminate adult heartworms in cats, making prevention especially important.

🐾 Your veterinarian can help you determine the right year-round protection for your feline friend.

💗 October is Heartworm Awareness Month, and we're reminding our cat-loving community that prevention isn't just for our canine companions!

🐱 And this month's feline special at Chattahoochee Animal Clinic makes prevention even sweeter: enjoy a FREE nail trim with the purchase of NexGard COMBO!

Let's keep those curious whiskers, playful paws, and cozy couch cuddles going strong. ❤️🐾

🐾💕 Furry Friend Friday: Meet Franklin! 💕🐾

Franklin stopped by Chattahoochee Animal Clinic for his visit, and let’s just say… he knew exactly how to work the room! 😍🐶

With Tech Ashley by his side, Franklin was on his best behavior while still making time for a little flirting and plenty of affection. Swipe through the photos to see this handsome guy soaking up the attention—and looking pretty pleased with himself! 😂❤️

Franklin did GREAT for his visit, and we’re pretty sure he left a few admirers behind!

🩺🐾 A little reminder for pet parents: Regular wellness visits help us keep tabs on your pet’s health, even when they’re feeling fantastic. Preventive care is about helping those happy, tail-wagging days keep coming!

Franklin, you charmer—you’re welcome back anytime! 🥰

Drop a ❤️ if you think Franklin knows he’s a handsome boy!

🦟 Wellness Wednesday: One Bite Is All It Takes

You might think your pet is safe because they spend most of their time indoors.

But mosquitoes don't care whether your dog is an indoor couch potato or your cat never sets paw outside. 😳

One bite from an infected mosquito can transmit heartworm larvae to your pet.

And that's why heartworm prevention isn't just for pets who spend a lot of time outdoors.

❤️ Heartworm disease can cause serious damage to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels—and by the time symptoms appear, significant damage may already have occurred.

The good news? Heartworm disease is preventable!

🐾 Keeping your pet on year-round prevention is one of the simplest ways to protect them.

And during October Heartworm Awareness Month, we're helping make prevention a little easier with our special:

🐶 FREE Heartworm Screening ($35 value) with the purchase of 12 months of Heartgard & NexGard, NexGard Plus, or ProHeart Injection.

🐱 FREE Nail Trim with the purchase of NexGard COMBO.

Don't wait for a mosquito bite to become a bigger problem. Prevention starts before exposure happens. ❤️
