“Ella” is a lovely 2’6” - 2’9” hunter/eq prospect. She was started late after having 2 foals and originally purchased to add to an investor’s lease string. She’s not quite ready for that job, however, and our priority is finding her a home who will finish her and let her shine. She is an absolutely lovely and kind hearted mare - despite not being “finished” in the traditional sense, she has had tons of junior miles at home and even on her limited rated record - a junior rode her at all 5 of the rated shows and placed consistently. She just needs the finishing touches under professional management. Owner is flexible with purchase terms to give her the best chance at finding the perfect home and we are ready to get her moved. Reasonable offers considered. Plenty of videos of with jrs and pro.

“Birdie” is truly a parent’s and trainer’s dream. This is the horse you want teaching your kiddos, bringing along a new amateur, or even taking care of your husband or grandma- he genuinely looks after everyone who climbs aboard. It’s no surprise he has quickly become a barn favorite.

Birdie is a leg ride with a soft mouth and is as simple or as sophisticated as you want him to be. For riders still learning, he is forgiving, confidence-building, and honest. For those with a little more experience, just get into your half seat and let him do his job- he’ll effortlessly carry you down the lines and make it all feel easy. While he’s a big boy, he is incredibly mindful of his rider and adjusts accordingly. He has auto lead changes and as close to auto everything as it gets. We have absolutely adored having him in our program. (Special lease considerations available for someone interested in leasing him and keeping him with us. Inquire for $.)

He has a résumé a mile long, from national derbies to medals to even dabbling in the meter classes at one point. These days, however, he’s perfectly content taking life at a more relaxed pace and showing his riders the ropes.

The worst thing he does? Every now and then he likes to play a game of tag with you when you try to catch him in the pasture. 🏃‍♂️

Birdie comes with typical age-related show horse maintenance and has very straightforward dietary requirements. He is the kind of horse that is increasingly difficult to find- a true teacher, confidence builder, and trusted partner and he was scouted specifically for this role.

1. Birdie- 17.1 KWPM gelding, 17 yr old. This horse is the perfect horse for anyone to learn from through the lows and is a trainer’s/parent’s dream. Auto everything. Leg ride and soft mouth with a record a mile long. Lease option mid 5s.

2. Ella- 15.3 Westphalian mare by Balt’amour, 9 yrs old. Adorable 2’6”-2’9” hunter/eq type. Started late after having 2 foals and she is very close to being finished with some rated experience under her belt. Sale mid-upper 5s and owner is ready to get her moved.

Please help us welcome Zoe Setton to the HVF team! Zoe is joining us this summer as a working student from the University of Kentucky where she is studying Equine Science and Management. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge from successfully competing in all three rings to teaching to FEI grooming. Spring Tryon Recap! 💚

✨ Mary Elizabeth Hicks & SF Phinnley. It was a show of big firsts - first move up to the lows for ME and first horse show for this partnership. Not only did they place respectively in their classes but most importantly they had a wonderful experience getting to know each other better. We are so proud of this duo.

✨ Morgan Moss & Oh My Stars. Morgan and Star consistently shined throughout their two weeks, leaving with a 🥉 in the USEF/NCEA Jr Hunt Seat Medal. They also laid down an impressive round in their first M+S 3’3” Jump Seat Medal and turned and burned for a 🥉out of 18 in the .90s. We are so impressed with this partnership.

✨Piper Snyder & Haiku. Piper got to join us from Ocala and she never fails to impress us with her riding skills! She and Haiku walked away with a 🥈out of 17 and multiple other top placing in the Low Adult Hunters. It’s always a pleasure to have Piper with us— until next time! Thank you Jo Ann Forman for sharing your special boy.

✨ Anna Sherwood & Haiku. This duo walked away with a Reserve Champion in the Long Stirrup, claiming 🥇 place in 2 out of 4 of their over fences classes. This is Anna’s second rated show and we are so proud of the hard work she has put in to accomplish her goals with Haiku!

✨ Morgan Moss & Havana. This pair laid down consistent rounds in the Children’s Hunter, walking away with a 🥈&🥉. They also claimed a 4th out of 19 in the 2’9” USHJA. Way to go Mo & Vana!

Chattanooga area hunter/jumper riders, we have a special lease opportunity we want to share with our local community before opening it up more broadly.

This guy is the real deal. He has a record a mile long, national derbies, medals, you name it- and he brings all of that experience into the ring every single time. He is the best partner for someone new to rated showing.

He’s auto everything, genuinely kind, and the perfect teacher for a rider working through the lows. We absolutely love having him in the barn.

We’re looking for someone local who
wants to keep him here with us and train/show in our program. We’d love to find that match close to home first, and are giving special lease option considerations to this person.
