September, October, November, December… cooler weather is on the way, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to stop your pet’s parasite or heartworm prevention!

We often hear, “But it’s getting cold outside, do they really still need it?” The answer is YES!

🦟 Fleas and ticks don’t simply disappear when temperatures drop. They can survive in protected areas, and our pets can bring them right into your home.

🪱 Heartworm prevention is year-round protection. Missing doses can leave your pet unprotected, and mosquitoes may still be active during warmer stretches of fall. Even more importantly, keeping your pet on a consistent schedule helps prevent gaps in protection.

🏠 And remember—your home is warm all year long! Once fleas make their way inside, they can become a much bigger problem than you expected.

Whether your pet is spending most of their days curled up on the couch or still enjoying outdoor adventures, staying consistent with prevention is one of the simplest ways to protect their health. ❤️

📅 Not sure if your pet is up to date? Give us a call or check with our team at your next visit. We’re happy to help make sure your pet heads into the colder months protected!

Don’t let the changing seasons fool you, prevention is a year-round commitment. 🐾
