Muskingum County Humane Society

10/23/2026

The J. W. and M. H. Straker Charitable Foundation awarded the Muskingum County Humane Society a sizable grant to be used for Foster Toolkits, which will be provided to each one of our foster families. These toolkits provide resources, supplies and materials to enable our fosters to successfully care for our animals that are in their homes. Ultimately, this will enable our fosters to ensure health, safety and socialization for the animals in their care. These toolkits will contain food, treats, toys, dishes, scales, blankets, bottles, formula, syringes, supplements and other items necessary to provide adequate care for our foster animals. Our organization is so incredibly grateful to this wonderful foundation, for their generous gift to us! We look forward to using these allotted funds to deliver enrichment to the animals in our program, while relieving the financial burden for our incredible fosters. Thank you!

Please adopt beautiful Audrey🩷

Who doesn’t love a true rescue story? Whoever adopts sweet Audrey will be rescuing a beautiful little kitten that survived a truly tragic event 🥺

When Audrey was just 2-3 weeks old, her mother and litter mates, were hit and killed by a single car. The driver of the car was absolutely devastated, and got out of the vehicle to find a single kitten standing by the rest of her family, who had all passed from this tragic event. Audrey was the only survivor in her family. She didn’t run, she didn’t hide, she trusted the driver who scooped her up, and the driver then called a member of our humane society. Audrey was placed in our foster program, where she was loved and cared for. Due to her being only 2-3 weeks old, she had to be bottle fed for a couple weeks. This is not an easy task. She was named Audrey, which appropriately means “noble strength”. Now this elegant little survivor is looking for a family to call her own🩷

If you would like more information on Audrey, please TEXT our adoption/foster coordinator, Julie Bay at 740-607-2410. She has a $100 adoption fee.
