🐾💙 The heart of veterinary medicine is the people who care for our patients every single day.

As Veterinary Technician Week comes to a close, we're celebrating our incredible patient care team — from our Licensed Veterinary Technicians to our veterinary assistants and animal caretakers!

💚 Holly, Andrea, Candy, Melissa, Cindy, Cintia, Katie, Rocky, Meghan and Annette! 💚

Thank you for the compassion, dedication, teamwork, and heart you bring to our clinic every day. Whether you're providing medical care, comforting a nervous patient, or working tirelessly behind the scenes, you make a difference!

We appreciate each and every one of you! 🐾❤️

Help us show this amazing team some love in the comments! 💕

Behind every wagging tail, healthy purr, and successful recovery is a team of dedicated veterinary technicians. They may not always be in the spotlight, but their hands and hearts make a difference every single day. 💙

Think veterinary technicians just give shots and cuddle puppies? Think again! 🐾

From monitoring anesthesia to running lab tests and providing hands-on patient care, our amazing technicians do it ALL (and so much more!).

We're so thankful for the knowledge, skill, and compassion they bring to our clinic every day! 💙💚

If our patients could talk, we think they'd have a few things to say! 🐾😂

This week, we're celebrating the amazing vet techs who care for our patients with skill, patience, and lots of love (even when that love isn't always returned! 😹). 💙💚

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! 🐾

🎉🎂 Happy Birthday, Katie! 🎂🎉

Help us wish our one-of-a-kind veterinary assistant, Katie, a very Happy Birthday! 🥳

Katie keeps us laughing with her quick wit, hilarious sense of humor, and her slightly unpredictable ability to say exactly what's on her mind. 😂 You never quite know what's going to come out of her mouth, but you can bet it's going to be entertaining!

When she's not keeping us on our toes at the clinic, you can find Katie rocking out at concerts (like this past weekend! 🤘🎸), attending book conventions, horseback riding, or spending quality time with her nephews. 📚🐴❤️

Katie, thanks for bringing so much laughter, personality, and fun to our team! We hope your birthday is as awesome as you are—and that your filter decides to take the day off! 😉🎉

Happy Birthday from all of us at Companion Animal Clinic! 💙🐾

📸 Katie is on the right, enjoying a night of live music with her friend! 🤘🎸

🎃👻 Halloween is full of tricks and treats, but it can also bring some spooky hazards for our furry friends! 🐾 Keep your pets safe this Halloween by watching out for these common dangers! 🧡🖤

Spooky season has arrived! Here are some tips to help keep your pet safe during the Halloween festivities:

Halloween Treats Are Not for Pets 🍬🍫
* Keep holiday treats and candies out of your pet's reach.
* Unsweetened, dark, bittersweet and baking chocolate can be toxic to pets. If your dog eats chocolate, call your veterinarian or an animal poison control center, as treatment may need to be rendered immediately. Symptoms of toxicity include excitement, nervousness, trembling, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive thirst or urination, muscle spasms and seizures.
* Keep gum, candy or breath mints containing the sweetener xylitol away from your pets. When a pet eats even a small amount of xylitol, it causes a surge of insulin, and the animal's blood sugar may drop quickly and dangerously.

Decorations Are Potential Tricks 🕸🎃
* Halloween decorations such as fake cobwebs should be kept out of reach of pets.
* Glow sticks can be hazardous if chewed or ingested, causing mouth pain and irritation, as well as profuse drooling and foaming at the mouth.
* Light strands, loose wires and electric cords can be a serious hazard to your pet, especially puppies, who may chew them.
* Never leave candles, such as those in jack-o-lanterns, unattended—especially around puppies and kittens.
* Never allow your pets to eat a leftover jack-o-lantern, as a rotted, moldy pumpkin can make them seriously ill.

🐾💼 Pawsitively hard at work! 🐾

It looks like our Practice Manager, Rasha, has a new assistant! 😂

Meet Jewel, one of Dr. Broaddus's pups, who has taken it upon herself to help with the daily office duties. We're not sure how much work is actually getting done, but she's definitely keeping a close eye on things! 🐶💕

Her qualifications? Excellent supervision skills, a talent for warming laps, and a willingness to work for treats! 🦴

We think she's earned Employee of the Month! 🏆🐾

🎉 Happy Birthday, Kimmie! 🎨🐉✨

Today we’re celebrating Kimmie, our resident artist and one of the creative minds behind the front desk!

Kimmie is the talent behind our client board, where she somehow manages to make important information fun, eye-catching, and way more interesting than the rest of us probably could. 😂 She’s always coming up with a new theme or creative little detail, and we love seeing what she comes up with next.

Of course, her creativity definitely doesn’t stop when she leaves the clinic! For her birthday photo, we had to share this one of Kimmie with her best friend and her dragon, Saphira, at our local Fantasy Ball. 🐉🖤 Because honestly, if anyone on our team was going to show up to a ball with a dragon on her shoulder, it was going to be Kimmie.

Please help us wish our wonderfully creative, dragon-owning receptionist a very Happy Birthday! 🥳🎂 We hope your day is every bit as fun and magical as you are!
