Understanding and meeting your dog's needs by switching up training methods is really key. Last week, I was working on leash skills in a busy environment, and Bibble was having trouble focusing and moving smoothly at the same time. I could sense her frustration through the leash, so I paused for a moment. We sat together on the grass, enjoyed some people watching, and once she was calmer and more engaged, we went back to practicing a stay—which she’s doing really well with. She did fantastic, and we finished her walk and training feeling happy and positive.
