🐾 Did you know September is National Pet Insurance Month? 🐾

While it won't stop your pet from being a mischievous goofball, having coverage means you never have to choose between your finances and your pet’s health when the unexpected happens.

Why pet parents love insurance:
❤️No network restrictions: You pick the vet you trust!
❤️Financial safety net: Covers high-cost emergencies, surgeries and specialized testing.
❤️Focus on care: Make medical decisions based on what’s best for your pet, not your bank account.

Pro-tip: Enroll before bad luck strikes, as policies don't cover pre-existing conditions!

Have coverage already? Share your experience and help fellow pet parents!

🚧 Road Construction Reminder 🚧

With road construction happening throughout our area, travel times to our clinics may be longer than usual.

To help ensure you arrive on time for your appointment, please allow a little extra travel time when visiting our Roseau or Warroad locations. Arriving late may impact your appointment and, in some cases, could require rescheduling.

Our providers and care teams work hard to stay on schedule so we can provide timely care for all patients throughout the day.

Thank you for planning ahead, traveling safely, and allowing a few extra minutes for construction delays. We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you! 💙

☀️HEADS UP, DOG PARENTS: Black fly season is officially here!☀️

If you’ve noticed your pup scratching more after spending time outside, or if you’ve spotted bright red, circular welts on their belly, you aren't alone. The black flies are back, and they are hungry!

🔍 What to Look For:
Unlike mosquitoes, black flies are "pool feeders." They slice the skin and lap up the blood, which often leaves behind a very distinct mark:
🪰Target-like, bright red spots or rings (usually on the hairless parts of the belly, groin, or inner ears).
🪰Mild swelling or hives.
🪰Your dog licking or scratching at their tummy.

Don't Panic! These angry red welts usually look much worse than they actually are. In most cases, they don't bother your dog nearly as much as they bother us, and they typically fade on their own within a few days!

🐕 April is National Heartworm Awareness Month 🐱

Did you know that heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition that affects both dogs and cats?

It’s caused by parasitic worms transmitted through mosquito bites—and it’s more common than you might think.

The good news? Heartworm disease is completely preventable!
Protecting your pet from heartworms not only keeps them healthy but also helps reduce the spread of the disease.
