Look who waited so patiently for her forever family to come find her. Yep, Scarlett NKA Diane was adopted today, we are thrilled and thankful to Erika and Jim for seeing what a great pup she is, even with her crazy excited self. We met Erika and Jim through our bike run fundraisers as well Jim had a birthday bash and asked his friends to come to his event and help support our rescue, on his Birthday. So glad we met and now we finally got yoh A Tail of 4 Paws pup.. you are now stuck with us forever.

Thank you so much to Cindy, her amazing foster mom, Diane would not have been rescued if you hadn't pulled double duty with her sister Roxie at the beginning

Happy Tails Diane... happy gotcha day. Its all a blur of happiness🐾🐕

Meet Dudley, he is 12 years old approx 70 lbs Collie mix who's owner has passed away. Sadly the family tried to keep him but having 2 dogs of their own is too much. They wont put him in a shelter, but had a family member reach out to me to see if I had any suggestions . So this is a courtesy post, if interested in helping Dudley please reach out and I will put you in touch with the family.

Liberty update, we finally received test results from her visit with the specialist/internist..

Liberty’s 2M antibody test was strongly positive, confirming masticatory muscle myositis (MMM) as the cause of her restricted mouth opening and severe loss of the chewing muscles. Based on this result, I do not think a CT scan is necessary at this time unless her condition worsens or she does not respond as expected.

Her remaining blood and urine tests were reassuring overall and did not identify a reason that we could not start treatment. There were a few mild abnormalities, including a mildly low albumin, that we will monitor. Her kidney and liver values were normal, and there was no evidence of a urinary infection or significant urinary protein loss.

I recommend starting prednisone to suppress the immune reaction affecting her chewing muscles. We should recheck Liberty in approximately 4 weeks to assess labs (for side effects of prednisone), her comfort, weight, ability to eat, and measure the mouth opening again to compare. Depending on labs and physical exam, we will start tapering the dose slowly.

I also recommend stopping the Thyro-Tabs, as her previous testing did not establish that she is truly hypothyroid. The medication does not need to be tapered. We can repeat a complete thyroid panel.

We have scheduled a visit with a veterinary ophthalmologist, but they cant get us in until November, this is crazy.

She seems to be in good spirits, she even started to eat a little kibble. She is one of the sweetest dogs and deserves the very best. Please continue to pray for our girl as we tske her through this medical journey and healing.

This last visit to the internist coat the rescue $1317.52. This was for all testing, not even to treat her yet! If anyone is able to donate towards her medical, we would be so grateful. We also understand the struggles, if you are unable to donate, could you please share her story. Donations can be sent through Chase, Zelle, Paypal using our email [email protected]

With the unknown of what the future medical costs for Liberty, sadly we have to pause on intakes. We had committed to Ziggy and he is here.

Meet our newest foster Ziggy-he is about 6 months old and such a loveable fun puppy. He sadly was left in his crate with a note to find him a good home. Animal control reached out and we were lucky to have a new foster step up for him.

After a long day of transport, thank you to Darcy Linn and Dennisa Marie he is settling in very nice. He did cry for a few minutes before bed but then slept through the night. No accidents in the crate, he has had a couple in the house which is to be expected. He is already working on sit and doing great!

We were able to get most of his vetting complete before he came as he needed a health certificate to cross state line. They said he appears healthy, was neutered ( so on some quiet time for healing) rabies, distemper and bordatella. He is a zoomie dog, he gets silly.

He is loving his new dog bed, its extr big and oh so comfy.

More to come once he gets settled.

Great week for our Rosie girl, as you may remember she had surgery a week ago last Friday to remove a sarcoma tumor. We'll this girl for all that she has been through she is a rock star, it's like she doesn't realize she had surgery at all. She bounced right back into her routine, she loves her food and toys. So happy she has done so well.

Thank you Chris and Al for all that you do for Rosie❤️

Now we wait and hope to have the results soon on the tumor and margins from removal. Please continue to keep Rosie in your thoughts.

Have a great Sunday.

Liberty update. It's just been a week since she had her surgery to be spayed and found out that she has something going on in her mouth. As the Vet tried to put the tube in her mouth for anesthesia they were not able to open her mouth wide enough. In order to get that tube in.

This week's challenges we're trying to get her to eat. Prior to the surgery , we had her about a week and she didn't eat a full meal, but thought she might not like the food. Since the surgery we can see some issues with eating. We are currently feeding her some fresh pet as well as fresh venison and rice balls to hide her medicine in. Definitely need to have smaller pieces that she can grab, a video will be in this post showing her trying to eat fresh pet.

We have an appointment with an internist but earliest appointment is mid August. The internist will look at the mouth, skin, and eye.

Next week she will go back into our vet to have her stitches removed and then we need to recheck to see how the thyroid medicine is working for her.

So she has some challenges and we will continue to work to figure out what is going on. Please keep her in your prayers.

She is one of the sweetest dogs who loves everyone she meets. The foster family had a family get together and she dod great with everyone and all the excitement.

She had a little outing, and did great and just enjoyed the weather. Silly girl liked the hard cement verses the soft elevated bed. Lol, no DIVA dog here.

Hey you, its me Scarlett I am looking for my forever home, but its taking a little while, not sure why look how cute I am. We'll ok, maybe its my ears they are a little big, but I bet I can help get a better picture on your TV for you..

You like to shop, well so do I can't wait to go to our next adoption event at RejuveNate on August 1 10am as well I will be at the Farm & Fleet in Romeoville on August 15th 11am. Come on out and take me shopping, could use some new toys. Then we can go get you some coffee and me a puppacino, yum.

The jury is still out on my breed, we think shepherd mix, my sister Roxie who just was adopted looks a little Doberman and shepherd. Not really sure, so I am going with all American Rescue Dog.

✔️I am about 5 to 6 months of age.
✔️All vetted
✔️Housebroke
✔️Crate trained
✔️timeclock- I always will remind you when its time to eat.
✔️ I do tricks- love my treats

I love to play with my foster siblings. Sometimes I like to keep playing and they get tired of this pesky little foster sister. They tell me that I am confident and a very smart girl, see thats where the shepherd comes in. They tell me I would do good with a more laid back dog who loves to play or an active family. Being so young i will need a family to continue my training and socialization. My ideal home doesn't have to have another dog, I love all the pets and attention. I am still working on leash training, but walking is great stimulation for me.

I love kids, and would do better if they were 10 and up, as I still have Puppy nippy going on. I promise one day I will get over it. 😁

If I sound like the perfect companion for you, come find me. I can't wait to have a family to call my own like my sisters who have been adopted already.
