No Pets Allowed. Only feed the animals food that we provide.

A wild wood duck became trapped high in a tree at Fort Rickey today, and we couldn’t safely reach it ourselves. Thankfully, Greater Heights Tree Care was nearby and responded within minutes, using their truck ladder to gently free the bird.
Moments later, the duck flew away unharmed. 🦆❤️

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, we are especially grateful for the sacrifices made by so many families across our country. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.

Today is Sunday May 24th and it is forecasted to be a rather gloomy and chilly day, but we will be open!

Here are the pros : 1.) parking will be easy 2.) No bugs 3.) Hot chocolate at concession 4.) Some animals will be more active 5.) Its not hot 6.) Might not rain at all! 7.) Playland has a roof!

Here are the cons : 1.) No snake show, too cold 2.) No sunshine 3.) Puddles 4.) Goats hate rain 5.) Its kinda cold 6.) Pillowbounce cannot operate if its wet.

Khari and Nova say the pros definitely outweigh the cons... ;)

We are so thankful for all of the support Fort Rickey has been getting on weekends lately. We truly love seeing our community come out and spend time with us. 🤍

Just a little PSA: Fort Rickey is a small children’s zoo, and once our parking lot is full, we are at capacity. Please do not park along the highway, as it is not safe for you, your children, or passing traffic.

If you arrive and can’t find a safe place to park, we kindly ask that you come back another day or consider using a rideshare during special events.

We appreciate everyone helping us keep Fort Rickey safe and enjoyable for all of our guests!

This pre-Mother’s Day week brought unexpected heartbreak to our zoo family as Ruby lost her sweet baby calf. Sometimes these things happen despite every effort, and we are deeply saddened by the loss. 🥺
Through this loss, we were reminded that Mother’s Day can carry both love and grief. Many women quietly carry the deep pain that comes from losing a child or being unable to conceive. 💔
Because of this, we have decided to change our Mother’s Day special this year. In honor of all women, admission this Mother’s Day will be free for all women - no questions asked.
