❤️🐾 In Loving Memory Of Sweet Bruno 🐾❤️
A few years ago, Bruno came to me from Public Animal Welfare Services. She was already on hospice, and the understanding was that she probably didn't have much time left.
Well, anyone who knew Bruno knows that girl had other plans! 💪
Bruno had been through more than any dog should ever have to endure. She had been overbred, neglected, and it seemed she was never really given the chance to just be a dog.
When I first brought her home, I could tell she had probably never even been inside a house before. Things that most dogs take for granted were completely foreign to her.
That was heartbreaking to see...
But over time, she started figuring things out. She learned what a comfortable bed was, what it felt like to be loved, and what it meant to have a home where nobody expected anything from her except to just be Bruno.
And she found her place in the pack! ❤️🐾
She had other dogs around her, a family to belong to, and a place where she was finally safe. Watching her settle in, become comfortable, and enjoy the simple things in life meant more to me than I can put into words.
And that little girl was a WARRIOR!
She was supposed to have a short time left, but she kept proving everyone wrong. What was supposed to be a little time turned into years. Years of being loved. Years of being part of a pack. Years of getting to experience the life she should have had from the beginning.
I often think about everything she went through before she came to me. I wish I could have been there sooner. I wish I could have given her those years back.
But I couldn't change her past. All I could do was make sure the rest of her life was different. And I hope she knew just how much she meant to me.
💔 Today, our pack is a little smaller, and our home feels a little different.
She may not have been with me her entire life, but she was family for the rest of hers. And that's something I'll always be grateful for.
Rest easy, beautiful girl. You've fought enough battles. You don't have to be a Warrior anymore.
Run free, Bruno. ❤️🌈
I couldn't give you the beginning you deserved, but I hope I gave you the ending you needed. You were loved, you belonged, and you were never alone again.
Forever part of our pack. Forever my little Warrior. We love you girl! ❤️🐾
