Happy tail syndrome is very common for us to see since we have concrete walls. While we don't support body modifications for anesthetic reasons, tail shortening can help prevent injuries and blood stains. It can look very scary, but we try to do our best to treat our happy pups so they don't get worse.

Dr. Genell McCormick discusses happy tail syndrome, including symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options.

Please help! Our escape artist cat ripped our window AC unit wall and several of our cats got out. Two are all black with yellow eyes. One is a Russian Blue, he is all grey. The grey one is named Hollywood and is a larger cat. The two black cats are little buddy and big buddy and are medium sized with some hair loss. Please help us find them! If you see them call our office immediately, thank you!

ETA: the grey cat has been caught, we are still looking for the black cats.

I believe we finally have our phones sorted out. The 573-368-4866 number is the phone on site, and can now accept texts. We had to switch from spark light due to unreliable service on the land line so now it is a cell line. The 573-201-2030 will now be our emergency line and will be monitored if not always answered. Thank you for your patience while we dealt with this issue.

Friends, as fireworks approach please take some precautions to make sure your fur babies stay safe. Bring small outside animals, such as cats, inside. Secure your yard and make sure your dogs are wearing identifiable tags. DO NOT leave your dog tied up outside, we have seen many dogs break their chains, leads, etc. If you need firework boarding please call us and book an appointment, we are running a July 4th special! We also have a variety of calming treats in stock for cats and dogs. Stay safe everyone and have a good holiday!

PLEASE HELP!

We are missing our beloved cat Rowdy. He got outside a few days ago and hasn't come back, usually he wanders and comes back within a few hours. He is neutered and very sweet but shy. He likes other dogs and cats. He is a tabby, male, about 3 years old now. We have had him since he was a kitten and he is bonded to our other cat Orange. If you have seen him please let us know!! We miss him and want him home!!

Shadowood Wish List!

As we have gone through the years, many of our things have broke or become damaged under heavy use, but, they are not necessities that have to be replaced ASAP. We would rather spare income go to supporting emergency boarding, animal welfare, our ADOPTABLE pets, and the community. With that in mind we thought it would be nice to make a wish list and accept donations, used and new items welcome, to better our environment while being able to continue to support those who need us. We would love any and all support, used items are very welcome, simply spreading the word and promoting us is amazing. Thank you all so much for your current and continued support ❤️.
