Provide the Citizens of Rolla a safe and healthy enviroment for both its citizens and animals by enforcing the City of Rolla's Animal Ordinances. Adopt those animals that can be placed in a home. Humanely handle all other animals that cannot be put up for adoption, due to law or health.

We knew we were missing something here at the shelter!

Turns out it was homemade blankets, toys and kennel cards. Lovingly made by Mrs. Ingrams 4th-6th grade summer school class called “Paws and Pages.”

From the shelter staff, thank you so much for these sweet donations! Our animals love them already.

We appreciate any and all donations, but this one really tugged on the heart strings 🥹.

Rolla Red Update-

We wanted to take a moment to clear the air, address a few online worries while sharing a much-needed update on Rolla Red and her sweet crew.
First and most importantly: Rolla Red is safe, completely content, and so very loving. She isn't stressed, in fact she is very calm and relaxed and she has zero desire to go back to struggling on her own. She has fully embraced the full-service, five-star treatment here! She finally realized she doesn't have to hunt for food or guard her babies 24/7. Now, her biggest daily crisis is deciding which snack is her favorite and which ACO to hug first. She gives the best hugs! She is soaking up every single second of the pampered mom lifestyle.
​Her five little red-themed munchkins are thriving, despite the internet's worst fears! The boys, Carmine and Crimson, alongside their sisters—Cherry, Scarlett, and Ruby—are growing like weeds, gaining baby rolls, and developing some serious, spunky personalities.
​The whole squad is officially on the road to peak health. They’ve all officially evicted their flea and tick freeloaders, and vaccines have begun. While they brought in a few pesky skin issues from living out on their own, those are being treated and healing up wonderfully.
​Once mama finishes her mom-duty and the whole gang is old enough, everyone will get the official "fixed and microchipped" package deal before moving on to their forever homes. Until then they will be living their best life with us. So to everyone who sent genuine love and support: thank you!

It’s been a busy afternoon here at the Rolla animal shelter. BUT, we are never too busy for our shelter animals! AJ, Sango and Jerry pulled me to the side today. They would like to know when they can leave these kennels and come to YOUR house? These 3 are amazingly still waiting on their forever homes. If you’re interested, come pay them a visit. They’ve got a lot to say!

As the supervisor of the Rolla Animal Shelter, I want to commend my two Animal control officers, Erin Setzer/912 and Jess Switzer/933 for their professionalism, dedication and utmost diligence in spending most of the day rescuing newborn puppies from an almost inaccessible location.

The dog that is pictured has been roaming freely inside the city limits of Rolla for the past two years. Today she was finally captured. However, it was also discovered that she had recently given birth to five puppies.

The puppies were born in a deep cave like hole underneath a large concrete slab . Despite the very extreme heat and unrelenting humidity, both of these outstanding and dedicated officers literally crawled through the dirt, garbage, rocks and broken glass, into the hole as far as they could to try and coax the puppies out only to be unsuccessful.

Officers returned to the shelter, leashed the mother dog and returned to the scene. The puppies smelled the mother and after a significant amount of time, the puppies began to climb out of the hole and were secured one at a time by the Officers.

The Mom and all of the puppies are now safe and sound at the Rolla Animal Shelter.

I am so very proud of these two officers and the work that they accomplished today. If Officers Erin and Jess had not devoted their attention and dedication in rescuing these puppies, they would have surely expired.

Let’s give a Huge thank you to these two Wonderful Animal Control Officers for braving the extreme heat and unbearable humidity to rescue these pups and bringing them all to safety.

Cartier is a 1-2 year old female. She’s spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Cartier is beautiful, and she knows it. She enjoys the close ups if you can’t tell. She’s a sweet girl and is ready to cuddle up next to you on the couch.
