👀🔬 What we are looking For 🔬👀

We ultrasound the females to see what size follicles they have!. Follicles are small sacs in the snakes ovaries that house the egg cells. In theory all fertilized follicles should turn into eggs. ☝️🥚

🐍 Follicle Development 🐍
🔶 0–5 mm (Inactive / Early Growth)
Follicles are tiny. Female is building, but not ready.
👉 No breeding yet.
🔶 6–10 mm (Early Development)
Things are waking up, but still too small for success.
👉 You can introduce, but it’s usually not worth stressing either snake.
🔶 10–20 mm (Building Stage)
Follicles are growing steadily.
👉 This is when we start pairing, females appetite picks up. 🐍❤️🐭
🔶 20–30 mm (Prime Breeding Window)
Follicles are maturing and getting close.
👉 Best time to breed for strong, successful locks.
🔶 30s–40 mm (Pre-Ovulation)
Ovulation is approaching fast.
Female go off food 🚫🐭
👉 Pairing can stop here or soon after.
🔶 40+ mm (Ovulation Range)
Ovulation is imminent or happening.
👉 No more breeding needed..

🔬 Using ultrasound helps us:

About 2–3 weeks after ovulation the Females will shed their skin!. This is an important shed!!
👉 Eggs typically come ~30 days after this shed..

Morgan is a second time momma for us giving us a wild clutch.
She gave us 8.
🥺 2 were slugs
🥚1 b**b egg. It candled well, just small.
👀But we had our first egg tear!!
We have had a couple eggs be alittle stuck but never tear!! We paper toweled and glued it.
🕯It candled perfect so 🤞 it makes it!
Last year we got amazing odds from this pairing so even with a 🤏 rough start we are excited for these babies!!!
