Saying goodbye to 2025...
This was a hard post for me to write.

The hardest decision you ever have to make when you have an Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, is when is it time to let them run pain free in horse heaven.

On October 16th, we Laid to rest three beautiful souls.

Cap came to us Sept 2022 as an owner Surrender. He was loved by everyone he met. He loved to come in to his stall for breakfast and dinner. He would usually test a new volunteer to see if they could coax him to go back out to his pasture.
He will be deeply missed.

Annie came to us October 2018 from a kill pen in Pennsylvania. We believe that she used to be a ranch horse/trail horse for someone. She did best with more experienced riders. She was such a sweetheart and so beautiful.

Belle came to us Oct 2020 from a kill pen in Mississippi. She was one of the starved to death horses that we have rehabbed and helped her be heathly again. She was not rideable. We never tried to ride her, we let her live out her life. If she knew you, she would let you touch her.

Rest in Peace To each of you❤️🐴❤️

Annette

🎉ADOPTION STORY! 🎉
Nick (now Harvey) came to us in December of 2024 along with his pasture mate Holly. They were an emergency call from Greene County Sheriff. The sheriff’s dept helped get them signed over to us and they were both in bad shape. Nick needed food, worming, and had a serious fungal infection on his skin from being out in the rain with no shelter. From February into May he required regular baths with a special shampoo which wouldn’t have been so bad but he was scared of water. His new family is one of our riding families that fell in love with him every week during his rehab and finally they decided to make him officially theirs. Nick went from being discarded and abandoned to being loved by his girls.
Congrats to Kayla, Braylee and Enzlee on their new best friend!

If you would like to adopt your own best friend please contact the rescue and we have a few currently available for adoption. Or if you would like to sponsor a sanctuary horse, you can donate directly on Venmo, your donations are tax deductible. ♥️

🎉ADOPTION STORY🎉

Dozer came to the rescue in 2019 with two of his friends, Jazz and Kal. Jazz has since been adopted leaving Dozer and Kal with their other pasture mate, Brave. Dozer has had his fair share of rehab issues mostly with his feet and teeth. Last year we had to pull him from the pasture to heal his foot and work on training with him. He’s been a staff favorite because he’s so loving (despite being a bit spooky and a cow kicker 🤣)
Earlier this summer our volunteer trainer that was here from Houston on an internship came and fell in love with Dozer. Kamryn spent the summer working with Dozer and being challenged by him. By the time her internship was over, the adoption papers had been signed and now Dozer is living in Houston Texas with his new mom.
We are so happy that Dozer got the happily ever after he deserves.

Congrats Kam and Dozer!

Our 3rd Annual Fall Fest is coming!
We have opened registration for vendors to sign up!
Please click the link to register. It is a $10 vendor fee that will go back to the rescue for our winter expenses.
The last two years we have have doubled our attendance each time and there is usually about 100-150 ppl in attendance throughout the day. This is a great event for smaller businesses to be seen by families.

If you don’t want to be a vendor, but you would like to set up for trunk or treat, we will have a sign up coming soon!

We cannot begin to thank everyone that came out for United Way Day of Caring! We pour so much into caring for our rescues and giving lessons to our kids that the barn itself goes by the wayside. Having an entire team of people here to help us give the barn the love and refresh it deserves was overwhelming.
Thank you again to everyone that showed up and will continue to show up in the future. We can never explain how much this helps us.

We will have before and after pictures soon!
