With the candy bowl filling up, a quick reminder for pet families.

Chocolate, xylitol, and raisins are all dangerous for pets, and candy wrappers can cause problems of their own. Keep the stash somewhere your pet cannot reach, and remind the kids to do the same.

If your pet gets into something they should not, call us right away at (631) 744-8882.

October is Breast Cancer awareness month and the team showed up in support of our practice manager, Melissa, who was diagnosed with stage 1b invasive ductal carcinoma exactly 1 year ago. While we are not human physicians, we urge you to talk to your doctor about screening and assessing your own personal risk.

Did you know 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer sometime during their life and more and more women, like Melissa, are often diagnosed before the official screening recommendations at 40 years old. You can learn more about breast cancer on the American Cancer Society website.

It is National Veterinary Technician Week and our techs are the heart of this place.

They comfort nervous patients, monitor anesthesia, are your lab-work technicians, surgical nurses, dental hygienists, and somehow still find a way to make everyone feel cared for, pets and people alike. We would be lost without them.

Have a tech here who has taken great care of your pet? Name them in the comments so we can pass it along.

Happy Global Cat Day to every cat and the people who serve them.

Cats are famously good at acting like nothing is wrong, even when something is. That quiet toughness is exactly why regular checkups matter so much for them, indoor cats included.

If it has been a while since your cat's last visit, call us at (631) 744-8882!

Today is Pet Obesity Awareness Day, and it is a good reminder that those extra treats add up.

Carrying extra weight makes everyday movement harder on your pet and can affect their comfort and energy over time. The encouraging part is that small changes to food, portions, and activity really do make a difference.

Not sure where your pet stands? Call us to schedule a weight check and a nutritional consultation!

Costume planning season is officially here.

If your pet is dressing up, keep it comfortable and safe: nothing that limits movement, vision, or breathing, no small pieces they could chew off, and always supervise while it is on.

If your pet would rather skip the outfit, a festive bandana still earns full marks.

So tell us, what is your pet going as this year? We want to hear it in the comments.

Here is a quick one you can do at home... Gently lift your pet's lip and take a look!

Red gums, discolored teeth or breath you can smell from across the couch are all worth a call to your veterinarian. Dental issues are common and they are a lot easier to manage when caught early.

Ask us about a dental check. Call us at (631) 744-8882 today!
