EDITED TO ADD: It looks like the announcement he had passed away was done too early. It appears that Gonzalez is on life support for the time being. He and his family will remain in the thoughts and prayers of everyone in the Lazy Days family.

It is with great sadness that I let you know Gonzalez passed away today. From what I have found out and if my information is correct, Oso will have a home with his family. We all know dogs grieve the loss of their families and I know Oso will be no different. The streets won't be the same without them.

I am sure we have all seen Gonzalez on his bike with his faithful Oso around Rocky Mount. There are some reports that he has found his way back home, which would not surprise me one bit. I'm pretty sure Oso can find his way home from anywhere. But it is always good to keep an eye out just in case reports are wrong.

I actually passed the accident this morning, not realizing who it was. The bike was banged up so I was not surprised to hear Gonzalez was badly injured (Oso was not injured). Our hearts go out to their family

We FINALLY got snow! And as everyone knows, the only good things about having snow are snow cream and the joy of watching our pups in the snow! As you can see, my Winnie was having the time of her life having zoomies! (This was the dog who came to use with two knee surgeries - tell that to her lol) So lets have them! The ice is coming. We all know it but, in true to NC fashion, we just don't know how much. I've seen some posts online asking how to help your pets deal with this. So my favorite tips are:
- can't find pet safe ice melt? Go grab some clay cat litter. It'll make a muddy mess when this melts but it will provide traction.
- put down a tarp in the yard. I know we have plenty of pets who REFUSE to go outside if there is the slightest bit of anything on the ground. You can pull the tarp off if you need to and put it back when they're done.
- thick cardboard can be placed over your steps (or on your windshield!) to keep them clear from ice. (This was a new tip given to me yesterday - thanks Penny!)

We'll make it through this folks. We just have to stay warm and dry as best we can. (Please, o weather gods, keep our power on!)
