Luckily the HoHa Dairy Spay Neuter Fund is here to help cats with their faulty math skills. $15 Outside Cat Spay/Neuter includes rabies vaccination and ear tip!
Franklin County Humane Society is pleased to announce that a generous donation from the Hopkins Family is being used to create the HoHa Dairy Spay Neuter Fund to assist with spay neuter costs for the pets of qualified Franklin County residents. The donation was made in honor of the Hopkins Family’s Uncle Henry and Aunt Carolyn and their brother Carter Hopkins. Henry, Carolyn and Carter ran the HoHa Dairy Farm which was in the Callaway area of Franklin County and they shared a love and compassion for the many stray cats and dogs that found a home at the Farm.
Franklin County residents can qualify for these very low prices by providing proof of receiving financial assistance when making the appointment. There will be a special price of $15 for spay/neuter, rabies vaccine and ear tip for outside cats. Our hope is this will encourage residents feeding outside cats to get the cats spayed, neutered and vaccinated. This will reduce the numbers of kittens born each year to outside cats which overwhelm shelters every year.
There are also significantly reduced fees for dog spay/neuter surgeries. The Humane Society recommends that pets be altered by four months of age to prevent unplanned litters. Kittens as young as four months and puppies as young as five months are old enough to produce their first litter just two months later. Appointments are based on availability.
