This app allows you to access your pets records, REQUEST appointments, and request refillable medications.

Please note that appointment requests made through the app are not scheduled until approved by an AHRH staff member. Once we receive the request, we will review and reach out with a confirmation, rescheduling, or denial.

🎉 Today, the Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill is celebrating a very special first birthday — our beloved hospital mascot, Teeter! 🎂🐾

Teeter was born with a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), which occurs when the cerebellum does not fully develop before birth. The cerebellum is responsible for coordination and balance, so cats with CH are often described as "wobbly," with head tremors and an unsteady gait.

True to his name, Teeter has a particularly severe form of CH. He is unable to walk independently and was born with deformities affecting his front legs. Despite these challenges, Teeter continues to thrive thanks to the incredible care and dedication of our associate veterinarian, Dr. Marlena Holter, who has been by his side every step of the way. We are so proud to celebrate this milestone and grateful to watch him grow into the sweet, resilient cat he is today. ❤️

We also want to take a moment to recognize our amazing team here at Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill!
As many of you know, we officially launched our new practice management software on May 29. Learning an entirely new system is no small task, but our staff has done an outstanding job adapting while continuing to provide the high level of care and service our clients expect.

To our clients: thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to learn and fine-tune the new system. To our staff: thank you for your hard work, flexibility, and positive attitude through every challenge and growing pain. We appreciate you more than you know!

Today, as we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we’re reflecting on the importance of service, compassion, and care in our community.

Dear Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill Family and Friends,

As we head into the holiday, we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your pets.

Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, November 27th, in celebration of Thanksgiving.

We will also be closing early on Friday, November 28th. Friday hours will be 7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., with no lunch closure.

If your pet needs immediate care on Thursday or Friday, please contact your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.

Please plan ahead for any prescription pickups your pet may need.

We want to share that Dr. Lauren DelTosta’s last day with us was Friday, August 8th. While we’re sad to see her go, we are incredibly grateful for the time she spent as part of our team and the compassionate care she provided to so many of our beloved patients.

Please join us in wishing Dr. DelTosta all the best! She will be greatly missed by our team, clients, and patients alike.

🎆🐾 4th of July Safety Tips for Pets
Firework anxiety is not the only risk to pets during the 4th of July. Keeping pets away from human food and drinks and other potentially dangerous debris such as glowsticks, bug repellent products, plastic decorations, and other hazards.

Here’s how you can help keep animals safe this Independence Day:

✅ Make sure pets have ID tags & up-to-date microchip info
✅ Keep pets indoors during fireworks - loud sounds can cause panic and escapes
✅ Avoid giving pets table scraps, especially toxic foods
✅ Make sure animals have shade and fresh water
✅ After the festivities, check your yard for leftover debris or fireworks
✅ Never leave pets in hot cars, even briefly
✅ If you’re traveling, consider a trusted pet sitter or boarding option

April is National Heartworm Awareness month!

The American Heartworm society recommends giving pets preventative heartworm medications YEAR ROUND- regardless of location, weather, or lifestyle of the pet. Additionally, a preventative Heartworm screening is recommended each year at your pets annual exam.

Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill has everything you need to protect your pet from heartworm disease AND treat your pet if he/she does test positive for heartworm infection.

Heartworm is spread through mosquitos, meaning any pet, whether they spend most of their time outside or not, are susceptible to heartworm infection. The incidence of heartworm infection in Connecticut continues to rise year after year, though cases are extremely prevalent in the south. Many rescue dogs come from the south- so it’s pertinent to test new rescues ASAP for heartworm disease.

Heartworm infection is incredibly serious and is fatal if left untreated. The safe administration of heartworm prevention relies on your pets yearly screening (a test which also screens for tick borne diseases like Lyme), so don’t put off these important measures.
