Luther: Before & After 📸

Luther is an English bulldog pup who came in for eating rat bait (which is pretty common!)

In Luther’s case we were able to give him a medication called Apomorphine, a drug to induce vomiting that also has an op**te effect, causing most dogs to feel pretty loopy afterwards 🎢🤢

Apomorphine is not always effective, but Luther got lucky! 🍀

Chloe is potato 🥔 says “Is it Friday yet?!”

Chloe came in for a urinalysis, and sometimes we have to collect urine directly from the source by using a sterile method called “cystocentesis”. Using an ultrasound allows us to locate the bladder for easy collection while also giving us a better view of the bladder wall to check for thickening (sign of inflammation) and sometimes bladder stones or sediment! 💉🦠

Has your pet ever had a urinalysis? 👀

We DONUT know how to keep our paws off of mister Slinky! 🍩

Slinky came to us in disguise, but his neutered site gave him away 👀 Fortunately, everything was healing appropriately and Slinky left with his tail wagging!

Which method works best for your pet in recovery: Donut Of Doom or Cone Of Shame? 🫣❤️‍🩹

🤔💭 Picture this: You’re worried about your pet staying overnight in-hospital, but this is how your pet is responding to treatment 😂❤️‍🩹

Honey came in for eating a few pork bones and stayed for a slumber party (and some intense IV fluid therapy). Once she passed the bones, she went back home the next day! 🩺🐶

❓Did you know that when a pet stays at our facility, our staff is available 24 hours to send text updates with pictures of your sweet pets and to keep you informed on how your pet is responding to treatment? 📲❤️‍🩹

Ever wonder how we muzzle a dog that has no muzzle? 👀🤯
Huey was a good sport for our demonstration, was all bark and no bite 🐶 and got lots of love from staff and his mom when his treatment was completed! ❤️‍🩹🩹

While we always listen to the pet to see what works best for making them comfortable in an emergency setting, sometimes they’re too painful and try to bite (even if they’re not usually chompy). Muzzles are a great tool used in veterinary medicine to ensure the safety of family, staff, and the pet! 🩺👍

This face says it all… 👀

Boonie, a 10-month old dachshund, came in for giving his parents quite a scare! 😱
Boonie made the conscious decision that only a little guy could make: Eat everything (including my pawrent’s dropped pill) 💊 🍽️

Boonie was given some fluids and an injection to counteract the human medication he ate, and feeling more like his handsome self! 🐾
