RHEC/Pegasus Eventing had a wonderful time at the Texas Rose Horse Park Spring horse trials this past weekend! The weather couldn’t have been better and the footing was perfect!
Ellen rode Holly Becker’s “Champagne Cindy” aka Tilly in a big novice horse division and ended in third on their dressage score of 31.5! This is only Tilly’s second USEA event!
Lilian Pham piloted both her horses, Lady and Lou, around the training and bn! Lady is just coming back after a 7 month break for a pasture injury & knocked off the rust in the junior training division! Lou finished his first USEA HT and ended in 5th in his BN division!
Remi Garcia piloted her Prince Loki around the beginner novice. This was their second USEA show together, and their second time getting second place! We know that blue ribbon will be coming soon!!
Molly Mapel rode the infamous Sir Oberon, around their second event together, shaving over 20 points off her dressage score and ending on that score for 5th place in their Starter division!
Congrats to everyone! We’re looking forward to the next one!

Next time you ride, 𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 🐎

Pick up a trot. Stop using your legs. 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀.

Is your horse still in the trot you picked, or is he drifting back towards walk and making you work to 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝘁? 🤔

If you are tapping, squeezing, or pushing just to hold the pace, he is not really in front of the leg. He is teaching you that your leg is 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲.

That is a 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺, not a fitness one.

The fix is not more leg. It is a 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿, 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿 ask, one time, and then a proper relax so he has a chance to answer on his own ✨

Victoria and Honor completed their first recognized show. 🎉
Brooke and Flame had a confident XC round but are still working on their stadium.

Divisions were large and everyone brought their A game this weekend. So proud of everyone and all of their hard work. Can’t wait for the rest of the season.

Day 1 Texas Rose recap!

Remi and Loki were sitting in 1st out 17 in the beginner novice on a 27! Just had a rail to bump them down to second. So proud of these two at Remi’s second recognized event!!!

Molly and Obie finished out the day with a double clear stadium round at her first recognized event!

Brooke and Flame are finishing the day in third adding just a little time to their dressage score.

Ellen finished the day ending in 1st on Orion and 5th on Tilly in a MASSIVE novice division.

Victoria is giving Honor a confident first recognized show and just added a rail to their dressage score.

Katia and Archie are sitting in first in their modified division after a clear and fast xc round!

So excited for Sunday! So many improvements this show. All the hard work is paying off!
