Lone Star Underdogs Animal Rescue We are a 501c3 animal rescue located near Dallas, TX. We rescue pups from overcrowded shelters, dumped dogs, strays and owner surrenders in the DFW area.

All of our available pups are kept in loving foster homes until their furever homes are found!

This pint size cutie is Maya🩷

Maya is a 1 year old Maltese/Terrier mix (best guess) who is very small, weighing only 6.8 lbs.

Maya is a happy playful girl who loves affection. She enjoys running around the yard, playing with the resident pups, and then cuddling on the sofa.

She’s loving her new toys and treats at her foster home!

She rides well in the car and loves being with her person 🩷
She would love a family that is home more than away and really needs another playful small pup in the home. Because of her size, 7+ yr old kids only.

Meesha is an extremely smart, sweet and loving girl! 🩷

Her foster mom is an amazing trainer and has worked with Meesha for months - she has great recall, knows several commands and is even doing agility courses!

At 1+ years old, Meesha is a perfect combination of beauty and brains and is eager to please!

We believe Meesha is an English Pointer mix, currently weighing around 39 lbs. She has a gentle spirit, a big heart, and a sweet playful personality!

This beautiful girl is Daisy! 🌼

Daisy is a gorgeous Lab mix, who is 1 1/2 years old, and weighs 48 lbs.

This sweet, spirited girl is full of curiosity, smarts, and playful energy! She loves zooming around the yard, chasing balls, and keeping herself entertained with her favorite toys. When she’s not playing, Daisy is a total lovebug who can’t get enough cuddles, and affection.

She’s looking for an active family who will take her on adventures and provide her with plenty of daily exercise and enrichment. She loves going on car rides and long walks! She would love a family where someone worked from home so she wouldn’t have to be alone for long periods. Another pup her size or bigger would be great!

Daisy has storm anxiety but does fine with comfort from her people 🩷

Like any young pup, Daisy will thrive with a patient, loving owner who can offer consistent training and lots of positive reinforcement. If you have a nice yard for her to run and play, and a heart ready to welcome a joyful companion, Daisy might just be your perfect match. 🩷

Disclaimer / she looks a lot bigger in this pic than she really is - she’s a petite little gal 🩷

… it’s been just over a week since Cassie joined us.

As a reminder, she was severely emaciated and extremely matted etc. (severe neglect).

Several high calorie meals and gel vitamins have already shown their benefits! She has gained 1.6 lbs (currently just under 10 lbs). A few more pounds and she will be at her perfect weight! 🩷
Her hair is already looking better and is filling in nicely.

Cassie is a special pup.The true definition of a Velcro dog. While she is fine with the other pups in her foster home (big and small) she prefers to be with her person. She doesn’t show interest in toys but loves her treats 🩷
She will make someone an amazing companion.
She is sweet and happy and just wants to give and receive love.

Cassie will be ready in a week or so to start interviewing for her perfect furever home 🩷

4-5 yrs old - Cairn Terrier/Schnauzer mix (best guess).

Tizzy is approximately 1 year old and weighs 48 lbs. We believe she is a Labradoodle 🩷

Tizzy is a sweet girl with a good amount of energy who is obsessed with her toys!

The resident pups love her and she loves them and her foster family is giving her lots and lots of love and affection.
Her foster mom is an amazing trainer and she is learning so many commands.

We believe that Tizzy may benefit from another furry sibling in her furever home and definitely needs a nice backyard/active family.

This precious little girl joined our group yesterday. 🩷

Sadly, she came to us in heartbreaking condition — severely underweight, heavily matted, missing patches of hair, and with nails so overgrown they had curled under her paw pads. One of her dew claws was broken and dangling, and the vet even had to carefully remove hair that was tightly wrapped around one of her teeth.

The veterinary team gave her a body condition score of 2 out of 9. She currently weighs just 8 lbs, but should ideally be closer to 13–14 lbs. 💔

For the next couple of weeks, she will be enjoying several high-calorie meals each day and receiving endless love and affection. Once she has gained some weight back, she’ll get the spa day she deserves (her foster cut off all the mats and trimmed her up).

Despite everything she’s been through, she is incredibly sweet, gentle, and loving. All this little girl wants is to be held close.

Please officially welcome Cassie to the Underdogs. 🩷
She is 4 1/2 years old, and we believe she is a Cairn Terrier/Schnauzer Mix.

She will be looking for the furever home she deserves soon!
