🎓🐾 WELCOME TALA TO THE RIDGESIDE K9 TRAINING FAMILY!!! 🐾🎓

No dog is too big or too small for training not even 3-pound Tala! 💕🐶

Tala is an absolutely adorable 6-month-old Yorkie who just completed our 3-Week Board & Train program.

Her owner reached out because she wasn’t quite sure how to approach training and potty training with such a tiny pup, and I was more than happy to help!

Throughout her three weeks with us, Tala stayed on a consistent potty-training schedule and made wonderful progress. She learned that going potty outside earns rewards, helping her transition away from relying on p*e pads inside the home.

Tala also worked hard on all of her basic obedience commands around distractions and did beautifully. For such a tiny girl, she has a big personality and proved just how smart and capable she is! 🐾

One of the biggest wins for her family was learning how to confidently walk up and down steps. Now Tala can head outside, walk down the deck steps, and go potty without needing to be carried every time!

From potty training to obedience, confidence, and everyday life skills, Tala made amazing progress during her stay.

🎓 🎓🐾 WELCOME BRUCE & HIS FAMILY TO THE RIDGESIDE K9 TRAINING FAMILY! 🐾🎓

Bruce officially completed our 2-Week Board & Train, and his story is a perfect example of why leash manners and reliable obedience are so important.

Bruce is a Lab/German Shepherd mix with plenty of strength and excitement. His owners reached out to us after a walk with Bruce unfortunately ended in a serious injury. Bruce pulled his owner down, tearing her rotator cuff and ultimately leading to surgery.

That was the moment his family knew something had to change.

During Bruce’s training, we focused on building reliable obedience, better leash manners, impulse control, and teaching him how to stay calm and focused around distractions.

By the end of his program, Bruce was able to calmly walk past the dog park in his own neighborhood with his owner—even while her arm was still wrapped from the injury she suffered before training. ❤️

What once felt stressful and unsafe became controlled and manageable.

Bruce went home with:
🐾 A much stronger heel
🐾 Improved leash manners
🐾 Reliable basic obedience
🐾 Better impulse control
🐾 More focus around dogs and distractions
🐾 Improved door and everyday manners
🐾 A calmer, more responsive mindset

Welcome to the Ridgeside K9 Training family! ❤️

Frannie and Rocky officially completed their 2-Week Board & Train, and what a difference two weeks can make!

Before training, family walks were anything but relaxing. With two young, excited dogs and kids to keep up with, their owners often felt like they were being pulled in five different directions. 😅

Both dogs are sweet, playful, and get along wonderfully, but once the leashes came out, their excitement took over. Other dogs, animals, people, and everything happening around them made it difficult for them to focus. Walking them individually was manageable, but trying to walk both dogs together was extremely challenging especially with Frannie’s strength!

During training, we focused on:

✔️ Loose-leash walking and a structured heel

✔️ Walking calmly together as a team.

✔️ Impulse control around people, dogs, and other distractions

✔️ Reliable obedience even when excited.

✔️ Place command and learning how to settle.

✔️ Door and everyday household manners.

✔️ Building a calmer, more neutral mindset out in
public

Now their family can finally enjoy walks without constantly battling the leash! 🙌

Mom can tend to the kids while Frannie and Rocky calmly hold their Place command instead of adding to the chaos. They learned that they don’t have to react to every person, dog, animal, or exciting thing they see—and that listening comes first.

Training isn’t just about teaching commands. It’s about making everyday life with your dogs easier, safer, and more enjoyable for the entire family.
Life with two dogs and kids just got a whole lot better! ❤️🐾

🎓🐾 CHARLIE IS OFFICIALLY A RIDGESIDE K9 GRADUATE! 🐾🎓

What a transformation for this handsome 7-month-old Hound mix! Charlie came to us with a LOT of excitement, very little impulse control, and a habit of demanding attention from both people and other dogs. Jumping, pawing, pulling, ignoring recall, and trying to run the household had become part of everyday life.

His family wanted a calmer, more confident dog they could actually enjoy without the constant chaos — and Charlie absolutely rose to the challenge! 👏

During his 3-Week Board & Train, Charlie learned that he doesn’t get what he wants by demanding it. Attention, affection, freedom, and rewards now come from listening, staying calm, and making good choices.

✅ Reliable recall
✅ Much better leash manners
✅ Improved impulse control
✅ Better confidence around larger dogs
✅ No more demanding attention
✅ Stronger obedience and household manners
✅ A calmer, more responsive mindset

One of Charlie’s biggest accomplishments was learning how to control his excitement. Instead of jumping all over people or pawing dogs in the face, he learned how to settle, wait, and earn attention appropriately.

At graduation, his owners were thrilled to see the difference! They can now call Charlie back with confidence, enjoy walks without being dragged around, and have the tools and structure needed to keep his progress moving forward at home.
