She loves to be close, but yet just a little bit distant. Although we don’t think she will ever become a lap cat, we do expect that she will love to lay right by you! Some months are just harder than others. ❤️

Breeding Maine C***s brings us so much joy, but there are also difficult days that most people never see.

Recently, we’ve had one of those stretches. Four of our breeding females have needed to be spayed, some involving unexpected surgeries and changes we definitely didn’t have planned. When something like this happens, there really isn’t a decision to make—the health of our cats will always come first.

It also means breeding plans change quickly. Litters we thought we would have may no longer happen, and cats we weren't expecting to retire yet will be retiring earlier than planned.

Because of this, we will have two more of our females retiring and looking for their forever homes soon. Finding the right home for our retired adults is extremely important to us, and we will share more about these girls when they are ready. ❤️

This is the side of breeding that people don't always see. It isn't always kittens, cute pictures, and exciting announcements. Sometimes it's vet appointments, surgeries, unexpected expenses, worry, and making hard decisions because they are the right decisions for our cats.

We are still looking forward to what is ahead for King C***s Indiana! 🐾 Our male kitten waiting list is currently about 4–6 months, while our female waiting list is very short right now. If you've been hoping for a Maine c**n kitten, this is a great time to get your name on our waiting list.

Hopefully, the next few months bring us a few more happy surprises and a few less unexpected ones. ❤️ But through all of it, the health and happiness of our cats will always be our #1 priority.
