Did you know that 50% of recyclables put in Rockford recycling bins are rejected from the recycling facility and added to the landfill instead? One of the biggest sources of contamination are pizza boxes! Any cardboard that has food residue/grease on it CANNOT be recycled—but we’ll happily compost it! Our decomposers don’t mind the food residue—and we’ll turn the cardboard into healthy soil! WIN WIN! Curbside members can leave cardboard boxes next to their bins—drop off members: please tear cardboard pieces and put into your bins before you bring them to your swap spot.
