One thing about taxidermy in this part of Texas—the Axis and Aoudad never stop coming in, no matter the season. Between working on mounts and staying focused on our 11-month turnaround goal, social media has taken a back seat lately.

So, if you drive by and see that red truck parked at The Hide Out Taxidermy, stop in and say hello! We may have our heads down working, but the self-guided tour of mounts is never off limits. Come take a look around, check out the work in the shop, and see what we're up to.

✝️ Holiday Closure Notice + Hunting Report ✝️

The Hide Out Taxidermy will be closed Good Friday through Easter Sunday. We will resume normal business hours after Easter.

Now for the news…

This past weekend was WILDLY busy. Shoulder mounts were rolling in nonstop, and the whole town seemed just as busy.

Our official report:

Axis were on the move… and y’all did not miss.

Cooler temperatures had everything lined out just right, and we saw some good ones come through the door. If you were out there, chances are—you had a good weekend.

Looking ahead, as temperatures start creeping up, we expect things to slow down a touch… but don’t get too comfortable.

Hard-horned Axis in May is coming in hot (literally), and that’s shaping up to be another rush for the shop—and a mighty fine excuse to get back out to your lease.

In conclusion:
The deer were moving. The town was hopping. The shop was full.
And we’re grateful for every single one of y’all.
