Meet Oakley🐾
This precious Labrador Retriever puppy was created through our breeding program and was later adopted to a family that brings their pets to our hospital as well. So, we get the absolute pleasure to continue to watch her grow up! She loves food, cuddling, and toys - like a true Labrador. Welcome back, sweet Oakley. You are the spitting image of your Mama!🥰

Meet Dahlin 🐾

This adorable Siberian Husky puppy stopped by for some vaccine boosters and prevention this morning. She's a huge fan of Lean Treats and snuggles with her big sister, Eichel. Welcome to the RVVH family, sweet girl. We are loving watching you grow! 🥰

We are excited to share that we are working with Michigan State University enrolling dogs and cats in their current research study looking at PFAS exposure in our pets. This important study helps us learn more about the possible effects of exposure to PFAS in dogs and cats.

PFAS (Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) are human-made chemicals used to make products resistant to heat, water, oil, and stains. Often called "forever chemicals," they are nearly indestructible and do not break down in the environment or the human body, leading to widespread contamination and long-term health concerns. If you are interested in learning more or enrolling your pet in this study, please call the clinic to find out how you and your pet can help make a difference in this essential research!

To enroll in the study, your pet must have a current examination with one of our veterinarians or one would need to be performed. We will need to draw blood for the testing, the blood work costs are covered by the study, but not the examination fee if that is needed. Please call to schedule your pet today! (616) 863-9390.

🚨 Pet Poison Prevention Tip

Xylitol is one of the most common toxins we see in dogs, and it’s hiding in places you might not expect like peanut butter, gum, toothpaste, and even cosmetics.

Even tiny amounts can be extremely dangerous for dogs.

✔ Check labels
✔ Store products safely
✔ Keep purses, backpacks, and countertops pet-proof

If your dog ingests xylitol, contact your veterinarian or ASPCA Poison Control (888-426-4435) right away.
