Lots of miles today but the birds and weather weren't cooperating but we got an exceptional break in the rain for just one miraculously beautiful minute. Ryan Cowherd

Phin and Fenix got the call today to get Remi Wurtz dad, Ron who is in from Kansas, on his first Michigan upland birds. Ron was able to successfully connect on a grouse and a woodcock and had several more opportunities. Remi was able to connect on a woodcock in the final stretch of our last walk. I got a nice mature grouse on a left to right crossing shot.

Bird numbers were great in this morning's first stop. Oxbow's II Courageous Patriot (Patti) had several great points but shooting was tough through all the leaves. Still managed to bag this beautiful adult drummer.

First hunt of the year was a short golden hour trip after work with Remi Wurtz and Fenix. We got into a load of woodcock and was able to get a couple shots off through the tough early season leaves. I was able to connect with 1 off of Fenix's point.

Vicki is rocking the early season!

Vixen and the boys got it done today with their Flathead Decoy Co. floaters.

Great work!

Packmaster's Fowl The Leader (Haze) at just under 6 months of age on her first goose hunt. Owner Eric Roepke says she retrieved her first bird like a beast. From the reports I've been getting from Eric, Haze does everything in the field "like a beast".
