Meet Bandit — our current longest dog resident. 💔

For over 60 days, Bandit has watched people walk past his kennel and other animals leave with their new families, while he continues to wait for someone to choose him.

And for a little while, we thought his wait was finally over.

Bandit had an out-of-town adoption lined up. He was placed on hold, patiently waiting for the day he would finally get to leave the shelter and start his new life.

But sadly, his adoption fell through.

So Bandit is still here. Still waiting. Still watching every person who walks past his kennel, hoping maybe this time they’re here for him. 🥺

Bandit is a handsome Catahoula mix with a big personality and an even bigger desire to be someone’s best friend. He’s a sweet boy with some quirks, and there is one very important thing his future family needs to know:

Bandit MUST be the only pet in the home — no other dogs or cats.

He may not want to share his home with another animal, but he has more than enough love and personality to fill it all by himself. ❤️

Bandit isn’t looking for a furry brother or sister.

He’s looking for his person.

Someone to take him on adventures. Someone whose passenger seat he can claim. Someone to explore the world with and follow from room to room. Someone who will give him the chance to finally know what it feels like to belong.

More than 60 days is a long time to wake up in a shelter kennel.

Especially when, for a moment, you thought your turn had finally come.

Please share Bandit. Somewhere out there is a home with no other pets and an empty spot just waiting for a dog like him.

Some of you all know my personal dogs. This morning Cleo passed away. We found out in January that she had a large mass in her lung. And due to her age we opted for making her life the best we could for as long as she could. Cancer sucks whether you have 4 legs or 2 legs. If you have messaged in the last couple days please message me again. My head hasn’t been in the greatest space. We are doing ok but our hearts hurt for right now.
