“The hardest part of change is believing it’s possible.”
A little update on our Hope For Change movement.
Behind the scenes, something is happening.
We are sitting across the table from county leaders, council members, and decision-makers, having the conversations that need to happen.
We are talking about the realities of a reactive animal welfare system. We are looking at the data. The trends. The outcomes. The gaps. We are confronting the problems our community is facing and, more importantly, we are bringing solutions to the table.
Because change doesn’t happen by pointing at a problem.
Change happens when we are willing to sit at the table and do something about it.
We are planning advocacy events that will bring our community and our leaders together. Spaces to have difficult conversations. To listen. To learn. To challenge what has always been done. And to imagine what could be possible if we chose to do better.
We are continuing to gather your voices, too.
If you haven't already, please take a moment to complete our Hope For Change form. Your feedback gives our county leaders another perspective, your perspective, on what animal welfare means to the people who live here. It also gives you a way to stay connected as this initiative continues to move forward.
Because this cannot be change for the community without the community.
It is time animal welfare has a seat at the table when decisions are being made about the future of our county.
It is time the voiceless are heard.
It is time we stop accepting “this is just the way it is.”
And maybe most importantly..It is time we start believing that something different is possible.
We don't know exactly where this road will lead.
But we know we're walking it.
And this is only the beginning.
