Carolina Veterinary Specialists is open 24/7 for emergencies and plans to continue to remain open and provide uninterrupted specialty care to patients. We want you to know that the health of your pet and family, our community, and our staff are our top priority.

We have implemented additional safety precautions and protocols to keep everyone safe:

• In addition to regular, rigorous cleaning schedules, we have enhanced our protocols to increase the frequency of all cleaning practices

• All patient visits are limited to exam rooms only until further notice.

• Employees who are ill are being instructed to contact their medical care provider and to stay home until symptom-free

• We have temporarily restricted all non-essential vendor access to the building to reduce the traffic through the practice

If you are feeling ill, please consider rescheduling your pet's appointment or sending an authorized agent to bring your pet in. Please notify us by phone so that we may work with you reschedule your appointment or in the case of an emergency so that we can advise you on what to do when you arrive at the hospital.

CVS will continue to monitor the guidelines provided by the CDC and local authorities to ensure we are doing everything we can to help reduce the spread of the virus.

Please do not hesitate to contact our hospital directly with any questions or concerns at (803) 909-8300.

To our Rock Hill and surrounding community: please read and share!

We haven't seen any of these cases come through our hospital and paws crossed it stays that way. Please heed caution with your pets!

Alert - Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs)

DHEC has issued an alert on the potential impact to animals in the state if they happen to come in contact with a body of water that has a blue green algal bloom (BGA). In the last week there have been a couple of heartbreaking reports from NC and GA of family pets passing away within hours of coming in contact with a BGA bloom. It would be greatly helpful if practices in the state could notify the Department of Health & Environmental Control directly if an animal presents with symptoms resembling toxic exposure to BGA.

The link in this email has a notice from the department that clinics could put up or hand out to clients.
