Labrador Retrievers are famous for very seldom winning in all-breed competition in spite of large numbers and great popularity. This has almost always been the case. One of the few exceptions was Am. Eng & Can. Ch. Sam of Blaircourt, BIS at the all-breed championship show held by the Scottish Kennel Club in his native country in March 1960. Then Sam moved to America and won a total of seven all-breed BIS in the U.S. during 1960, 1961 and 1962.🐾

We are excited about this beautiful Ryder x Rain litter of fox red Labrador retrievers! Puppies are due October 11th, and should be ready to go home December 6th. We are reserving first pick of both the males and females in this litter.

Ryder is a big handsome boy, weighing in at over 100lbs! He is very athletic and intelligent, learns quickly and absolutely loves people, swimming and retrieving. He has a beautiful, thick red coat, and a gorgeous stocky build. His pedigree is a beautiful mix of English show and American field lines, including several show champions, master hunters, field trial champions and even a few Hall of Fame dogs further back in his pedigree.

Rain is an incredibly sweet, calm and affectionate girl. She is very intelligent and obedient, learns quickly, and loves people! Her ancestry is also a lovely mix of field and show lines, with many show champions, field champions and Hall of Fame dogs further back in her pedigree. She has an irresistibly soft red coat, a gorgeous blocky head, and a nice stocky build, weighing in at 91lbs.

Both Ryder and Rain share the same legendary grandsire, Johnson’s Jumpin’ Jack Flash DCAT DM DSA AM AS HDS TKI ~ a Dock Master, Air Retrieve Master and Hydro Dash Senior dock diving dog and Junior Hunter! It is not surprising that both Ryder and Rain love to swim and retrieve. 

Ryder and Rain have both been health tested through Embark and are clear of all hereditary genetic diseases. We are very excited to welcome both of these beautiful dogs to our program this year, and can’t wait to see how their pups turn out!

All our puppies are raised in our home surrounded by plenty of love and socialization with our 7 children, 9 dogs and 4 cats. They are extensively socialized with children, cats, other dogs, household noises, a variety of indoor and outdoor surfaces and textures, sights and sounds. We begin working on basic obedience, retrieving, and introduction to water (weather permitting). Pups will be vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, and genetically health tested through Embark. Puppies come with ourhealth guarantee and a go home bag that includes training treats, toys, and a blanket with mom and littermates’ scent on it. We also provide lifetime support for any questions or concerns you should ever have with your puppy.

Once puppies are six weeks old and have had their health check at the vet and first vaccinations (and personalities have had a bit of a chance to develop), we schedule a weekend of appointments for everyone to come out and meet and choose their puppy in person. Picks are made in the order of deposits received. If you can’t make it in person, we will send plenty of photos and videos, or we can schedule a video call. Puppies go home at eight weeks old, as it is very important to their psychological development for them to remain with mom and littermates until that age.

This question was asked several times in previous posts. Here are the facts.

Fox red isn’t a separate breed—it’s one of the darkest shades of yellow recognized by the Labrador Retriever Standard.

One of my favorite pieces of Labrador history is Ben of Hyde, the first registered yellow Labrador. Even though the surviving photograph is black and white, you can clearly see his coat was very dark, showing that rich fox red shades have been part of the breed since the very beginning.

The Labrador standard doesn’t recognize “fox red” as a separate color because it doesn’t need to—it simply states that yellow ranges from fox-red to light cream. That’s one of the many reasons it’s so important to understand the breed standard before believing internet myths.

Whether your Labrador is light cream, golden, or deep fox red, they’re all yellow Labradors. The goal of responsible breeding has never been to chase a color—it’s to preserve correct structure, sound temperament, working ability, and the qualities that have made the Labrador Retriever one of the world’s most beloved breeds.

Henry’s family sent me this pic of their very handsome Beau x Pearl boy on Independence Day! 🇺🇸 He looks so much like his dam, but with a light fox red coloring like his sire. 😍 We are hoping and praying there will be a fox red female in our next Beau x Pearl litter to add to our program. 🙏
