Rosie’s needs your help more than ever.
I will not comment further at this time, but yes I saw what’s been circulating last month and it will be addressed here after court this month, per my attorney.
July has been our worst month yet.
We did a $5 Friday and received one 2lb bag of dry food and 3 litters.
Our vet bills at Family Paws are $7k. I have no idea what Harvey Sparks was at Wilson’s last week.
Our rent is $6000+ now (it goes up each year) and we couldn’t pay it. Visits are way down. Adoptions have all but halted. I still owe the attorney for last month and we have a court date in two weeks and he has to be paid.
The cats have to be fed and we have kittens that need vetting this month and next.
If we have a repeat of July, the rescue will be done this month. That is a fact. Where the cats will go, I’m unsure. I’d need foster homes
Immediately. And a lot of them! We did that for a year and it was very difficult. Without a physical location to see the cats, adoptions are much more difficult.
We have 3 boxes of litter as of this morning. One bag of Blue Buffalo adult left that I picked up from Walmart last night. No Weruva kitten chicken and pumpkin wet as of this morning. I have enough GI kitten wet food for this evening. Enough GI kitten dry through tomorrow. We have plenty of Purina adult dry for the main room. After tonight’s main room feed, we will be out of wet food. We go through 200 cans a day in the main room and 40 in the kitten room. That’s 240 cans of wet food per day!
Without donations, adoptions, visits, attending fundraisers, events, we can’t sustain the cost of a Catfe and rescue. To fully vet each cat is more than $400 now. We run f***l PCRs, not regular f***l floats, and buy our own microchips, but still pay to have them implanted. We do our own vaccines when we can for the easier cats. Our adoption fee is $199 so we take a 50% loss each adoption. That does not include the cost of feeding them or any additional meds or vet visits for medical needs until adoption. Food and litter is the greatest fixed expense every month. Vet bills vary.
With all this being said, any donation, a box of litter, a bag of food, anything helps. We need to pay our rent current. It’s due again this month. Our landlord is understanding and knows what’s been taking place the past year and saw some of it himself on Facebook this past winter. We need a minimum $18,000 a month to cover food, litter, rent, and utilities. That does not include any vet care, meds, extras like toys, tunnels, beds, blankets, condos, hammocks, etc.
It is extremely costly to run a rescue. Even without a physical location, we still have a huge expense in caring for the cats.
Our Linktree has all the payment platforms, Chewy and Amazon wishlists, too.
