New Website is now LIVE!!!

The site is like a yearbook, with dog photos reaching all the way back to the beginning of RCA. Sifting through thousands...and thousands of pictures was insane. But visiting with all of those familiar faces made me so happy, sad, wistful, all the emotions! I just wish I could have posted them all.

I can't wait to hear what you think about it!

Dogs repeat what works.

If stealing the shoe turns into a chase game, congratulations, you have accidentally created premium entertainment.

The fix is not getting mad. The fix is changing what happens next so the behavior stops paying off.

Need help figuring out what your dog is getting out of the behavior? Call/text to schedule an evaluation.

If walks have turned into a full-body event, an evaluation is a good place to start.

We’ll talk about what’s going on, what you want life with your dog to feel like, and how training can help you get there.

No judgment. No cookie-cutter plan. Just a real conversation about you, your dog, and what comes next.

Call/text to schedule your evaluation. 585-271-8458

Getting a puppy is exciting!

It is also how you end up standing in a pet store wondering if an 8-week-old dog really needs seventeen different kinds of chews and a tiny staircase.

I put together the RCA Puppy Essentials List to help you start with the basics, without buying every “must-have” thing on the internet.

You can find it here:

If you’re waiting for your dog to magically grow out of the chaos, I say this with love...

That is not much of a plan.

A calmer life starts with clear communication.

That’s what we do best at Rochester Canine Academy.

Yup. You read that right.

No one is at their best when they’re overtired.

That goes for dogs, puppies, and the humans trying to live with them.

When dogs get enough uninterrupted sleep, they have a much better chance of making good choices during the day.

If your dog is acting like a tiny gremlin in a fur coat, don’t forget to look at the boring stuff too.

Sleep matters.
