Looking for something fun to do with your dog on the weekends? Come join Camp Companion’s Weekly FREE Pack Walk every Sunday at 10:30am! ALL community dogs welcome!

This week’s location (we alternate locations):
Petsmart SOUTH
4603 Maine Ave SE, Rochester

Pack walks are a great way to work on calm socialization, confidence building, structure, and basic leash skills in a low pressure group setting. All dogs are welcome, including reactive and anxious dogs. In fact, those dogs are often the ones who benefit most from structured pack walks!

Please share and help us spread the word. We would love to grow this into a fun weekly community activity for dogs and their people!

🐾 Barn Cat Homes Needed 🐾

If you've been following us for a while, you know that TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) is an important part of Camp Companion's mission. We often help community cats get spayed/neutered and vaccinated, using donor funds to help cover the costs because preventing unwanted litters is far more humane than allowing the cycle of overpopulation to continue. Cats breeding unchecked, often while sick, underfed, and without adequate shelter, is simply not acceptable to us.

Right now, we are looking for safe barn homes for several cats that are not interested in living as indoor pets. These cats came from a property they cannot return to and need a new place to call home.

All cats are spayed/neutered and vaccinated. We ask that they be safely confined for 2–3 weeks before release so they can adjust to their new surroundings. They will also need access to shelter, food, and fresh water.

Barn cats can be wonderful additions to farms, acreages, shops, and other outdoor properties while providing natural rodent control. By welcoming already altered cats, you're helping prevent unwanted litters and giving these cats a safe place to live.

🐾❤️This past weekend, we welcomed another transport of dogs ❤️🐾

We know some people wonder why we bring dogs to Minnesota when there are dogs here who need help too. The reality is that Minnesota is very fortunate to have a strong rescue community and a higher demand for adoptable dogs. Many areas in the South aren't so fortunate, and healthy, adoptable dogs are euthanized simply because there aren't enough resources available.

Helping these dogs doesn't take away from the work we do for local dogs. It simply allows us to save more lives and give more dogs the chance they deserve. In fact, just recently we pulled two dogs from the cities that were scheduled to be euthanized the following day.

One of the biggest reasons we're able to help dogs both locally and from out of state is our AMAZING foster homes. I'm a Jack Russell puppy who arrived a little unsure about this whole "life" thing. New people? Suspicious. New places? Absolutely not. Confidence? Never heard of it.

Fast forward two months and now I run this place.

I wrestle with my foster brothers, patrol the backyard, splash in the puppy pool, sing songs when my humans come home, and hand out free cuddles to anyone willing to accept them.

My foster mom keeps telling me, "Your family is out there."

I've checked the mailbox.
I've checked the backyard.
I've checked under the couch.
Still no family.

So I'm taking matters into my own paws.
✔️ Professional cuddler
✔️ Backyard zoomie champion
✔️ Certified good boy
✔️ Part-time WWE wrestler
✔️ Full-time heart thief

What I'm missing:
🏡 One forever family
