🐾🎉 YOU NAMED THEM! A SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT! 🎉🐾

Sometimes the smallest gestures create the sweetest stories! ❤️ At August's Taste of the Town, visitors joined our “Name the Dog”
drawing, sharing creative suggestions to help name our shelter pups.

Thanks to our wonderful community, two special girls now have names with meaningful stories behind them. We'd love to introduce you to Nancy and Charlotte and recognize the people who inspired their names!

🐶❤️ Meet Nancy!

A big shout-out and thank-you to Theresa Jones, who submitted the name Nancy! Her entry was selected from our drawing jar, and thanks to Theresa, this sweet little girl has her name!

🐶❤️ Meet Charlotte!

Charlotte's naming story comes with an adorable twist! A young girl named Charlotte participated in our drawing and submitted a name for a boy dog. While her suggested name wasn't selected, we had a beautiful girl waiting for a name. So, we decided to name her Charlotte in honor of our young participant! 💕

👏 A HUGE THANK-YOU to everyone who stopped by our table, shared their creative name suggestions, and joined in the fun!

What started as a simple community activity has become a special part of these two dogs' stories.

From all of us at Greece Animal Services, thank you for helping make Taste of the Town such a memorable event! 🐾❤️

🐾 FOSTER HOPE. ADOPT LOVE. ❤️

Two different paths. One incredible difference.

🏡 Not sure you're ready for a full-time pet? Why not foster?

Fostering is one of the most important ways you can help shelter animals! By opening your home temporarily, you're giving a dog or cat a chance to relax, feel loved, and let their true personality shine.

It's a win-win! 🐾 Your foster pet receives the care, attention, and companionship they deserve in a calmer home environment, while you experience the joy of making a difference — complete with plenty of tail wags, purrs, and cuddles!

❤️ READY TO ADOPT?

Open your heart and home to a new family member! Adoption gives a shelter pet the opportunity to begin an exciting new chapter filled with love, comfort, and companionship.

Whether you foster or adopt, you're giving an animal something truly special — a chance to thrive.

🐶🐱 Every home makes a difference. Every act of kindness matters.

Want to know more? We'd love to hear from you!

🐾 MEET CHARLOTTE — A BIG SMILE AND AN EVEN BIGGER HEART! ❤️

Looking for a sweetheart who loves affection and a little adventure?
Meet Charlotte!

This beautiful girl has captured the hearts of our volunteers with her gentle, loving personality. Charlotte is happiest when she's getting belly rubs, ear scratches, cuddles, and plenty of attention. She'll even lean in for kisses and loves when someone takes the time to talk to her! 💕

🚗 Charlotte loves a good outing! During a recent Doggie Day Out adventure, she enjoyed her car ride, was curious about her surroundings, did well around the new people and pets she encountered, and absolutely devoured her pup cup! 🐶

She's a good walker who can get excited but responds well to redirection. She also takes treats gently and is always happy to make a new friend.

Our volunteers describe Charlotte as a total sweetheart and gentle soul. Now she's hoping someone will come meet her and discover just how special she is.

❤️ Could Charlotte be the one you've been looking for?

🐾 PETS BEING REUNITED WITH THEIR FAMILIES IN 2026! 🏡❤️
At Greece Animal Services, there's nothing better than reuniting a lost pet with the people who love them!

❤️ So far in 2026, we've achieved a 62% overall Return to Home rate! But we know that number could be even higher.

📊 Did you know? Microchipping makes a BIG difference!
According to a study published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association:
🐶 52% of microchipped dogs were returned home, compared to approximately 22% of dogs overall.
🐱 39% of microchipped cats were returned home, compared to just 2% of cats overall.

Help us bring more pets home!
🐾 License your dog – Keep licensing information current.
🐾 Microchip your pet – Give them a permanent form of identification.
🐾 Update your information – Make sure your microchip registration has your current contact details.
🐾 Use an ID tag – A simple tag can make a big difference!
🐾 Register your pet for free with:
• DocuPet: https://www.docupet.com/
• Petco Love Lost: https://petcolove.org/lost

Meet Danny! 🐾

A Gentle Heart Waiting to Be Chosen

Danny is a quiet, affectionate gentleman with a beautiful copper-colored coat, a sweet nature, and a heart full of love. One of the most beloved dogs at the shelter, Danny has a wonderful, easygoing personality and is happiest simply sitting beside someone, enjoying a little attention and companionship.

This handsome boy is a champion on the leash and enjoys peaceful walks and exploring the world around him. He rarely barks, has lovely manners, and is impressively neat and tidy, keeping his kennel remarkably clean.

Danny has a playful side, too, especially when treats are involved! Cheese and bacon-flavored goodies are his favorites, although he'll happily pass on anything pumpkin-flavored.

Danny lost one eye following an injury prior to entering our care, but that hasn't diminished his curiosity, loving spirit, or enjoyment of life. He is a capable, affectionate boy who appreciates a gentle touch, a little reassurance, and the simple pleasure of being someone's companion.

Danny is still waiting for someone to choose him. He doesn't ask for much—just kindness, companionship, and a comfortable place to call home.

❤️ Could you be the person Danny has been waiting for? Come meet this special boy and discover just how wonderful a quiet friendship can be.
