I painted a mural in our family room!
I would love to tell you that it was as spontaneous as I just made it sound, but in truth I agonized about the sketch and the actual doing of the thing for years. (You can see a handful of my early sketches and test swatches at the end of the photos). I knew I wanted it to circle around the natural world, but had a hard time envisioning how a very representational illustration would work seasonally in our home. I guess something did finally just click into place in my body: I want more whimsy everywhere. And walls aren’t too precious for play.
I likely wouldn’t be sharing this right now if it weren’t for Michael’s full support and faith and “You’ve been wanting to do this for three years. Stop standing in your own way.” 💛
