**APPRECIATION POST 🐾❤️**
As you can imagine, not every service goes exactly according to plan. After all, our pups have minds of their own! Our job is to meet each dog where they're at and help them feel safe, comfortable, and understood.
This is Sage. Pretty girl, right? We know—duh! 😍
We've known this sweet miss for quite some time and have had the pleasure of caring for her through several different services. Along the way, we've learned her adorable quirks, respected her boundaries, and built trust at her pace.
A few weeks ago, Sage stayed with us for several nights of boarding. Despite trying a variety of interventions and accommodations, she just wasn't a happy girl. Missing your human can be really hard, and Sage was doing her best to tell us that.
Communication was key. 🔑
I'm incredibly grateful for Sage's mom, who worked with me to recognize that maybe Sage needed us to take a step back and adjust our approach. Instead of pushing forward, we listened.
We gave her time to decompress and started fresh today with a simple playdate in the comfort of her own home.
You never would have guessed that boarding had been challenging for her just a few weeks ago. She greeted me like an old friend, happy, confident, and completely herself.
Dogs, much like children, communicate in the ways they know how—through whining, excitement, avoidance, tantrums, body language, and countless other cues. Our responsibility is to listen.
At Itzy Bitzy Dog Co., we do our very best to hear what our pups are telling us. We also recognize when a particular setup may not be the best fit and aren't afraid to adapt our services with the dog's well-being in mind.
Profit has never been our priority. Creating a safe, loving environment where dogs can truly enjoy their time away from home will always come first.
Thank you, Sage, for giving me another chance and for reminding us that sometimes slowing down is exactly what's needed. No hard feelings, sweet girl—it was so good to see you today. 🩷🐾
