Here is a beautiful young lady. Labels are for filing, not for people - or cats! I was nervous about being in a new place, I mean, it's not a home, is it? My name is Demeka. I'm a pretty, tabby and white medium-haired adult kitty who came to Paws and Claws from another rescue. It's not great being in a kennel, but I'm doing okay now, I've settled in. I still don't like other cats near my kennel, but I DO like people! I like pets and laps! I'll bet I'd like your lap, too, once I feel comfortable with you. My name means "strong and powerful woman," and well, I am a "full-figured" girl. I will need to lose some weight and may need some help with grooming. But I definitely am a sweet, beautiful girl who likes being around people and receiving attention. Come take a peek at Demeka! Maybe, just maybe, it will be love at first sight! She may not care for cats near her kennel but that does not mean having a cat in her new home is not out of the question. The shelter is a high stress area with so many animals, sights and sounds but being in a home is a different story.
