🎆🐾 4th of July Pet Safety Tips 🐾🎆
The 4th of July should be a fun time of picnics, laughter and festive gathering, but for our pets it can be a time of anxiety, fear, and safety concerns. July 4th is the day more pets go missing! Here are some safety tips to keep your pet safe this July 4th weekend!
🇺🇸 ID Tags & Microchips - Make sure your information is up-to-date.
🇺🇸 Safe Space Outside- Make sure your doors, fences, and gates are secure and closed. Any pet may panic, run, and escape due to the noise of fireworks.
🇺🇸 Safe Space Indoors - Make sure your pet has a safe place to rest preferably without windows. In a room with windows, make sure the windows are closed and curtains drawn.
🇺🇸 Picnic Food Hazards- Please keep your pets away from fatty foods including table snacks, artificial sweeteners, salty snacks, bones, onions, grapes, heavily seasoned food and alcohol.
🇺🇸 Warm Weather Hazards - Provide plenty of fresh water. Walk and exercise your pet earlier in the day to avoid the heat, and help them rest and reduce anxiety at night.
🇺🇸 Hide the Noise- Play soft calming music, turn on a fan or turn on a TV.
🇺🇸 Provide distractions- Such as treats or enrichment toys.
🇺🇸 Vet Check Up - Talk to us about calming aids or sedatives to help keep your anxious pets calm and safe!
We hope you and your pet 🐾have a safe and Happy 4th of July!!!
