Our Pet of the Week is Curry✨

At just 1 year old, Curry is one happy boy with a tail that never stops wagging! He’s curious, full of personality, and always ready to make a new friend. Curry loves being close to his humans, giving the best kisses, and taking treats like a perfect gentleman.

With a big personality and an even bigger heart, Curry brings fun wherever he goes—and he’s ready to find a forever family to share it all with!

Yesterday was International Day of Charity, a perfect reminder that every act of kindness can make a difference for animals in need. ❤️ Whether it’s opening your heart to a shelter pet like Curry or supporting the animals in our care, your generosity means so much to VSAS.

Bob had a pretty great day at Butcher’s Blueprint last week — and, as usual, he was the perfect adventure buddy!

This happy-go-lucky one-year-old had a blast getting out, meeting people, and showing off his sweet personality. Bob is athletic, food-motivated, crate trained, and always ready for his next adventure (especially if treats are involved).

Please come to Rochester Animal services as soon as possible to confirm ownership and reclaim them.
To reclaim your pet, bring:
° A photo ID
° A leash & collar for dogs OR a carrier for cats/small pets.
° Proof of ownership, such as:
• Vet/vaccine records
• Dog License
• Photos of your pet

📌 Important Hold Information:
° Pets with microchips or other ID tags/forms of identification: We will attempt to contact owners, please make sure your contact information is up to date. Owners will have 10 days to reclaim them.
° Pets without identification are held for a minimum of 3 days before becoming eligible for adoption.

📞 Call 585-428-7274 if you believe we may have your pet. Or come in during business hours for our team to assist you.

☀️ ASHLEY IS READY FOR HER FOREVER ADVENTURE!

Ashley’s story started with her wandering the streets, but these days, this 1-year-old girl is much more interested in a life filled with sunshine, playtime, and people to love.

Ashley is the kind of dog who brings her own happiness wherever she goes. She loves splashing around with the hose, soaking up the sunshine afterward, and spending time with her favorite people. She’s playful, affectionate, and has a big heart that’s ready for a family of her own.

And she’s got some pretty great house manners, too. Ashley is house trained, crate trained, and has been playful with other dogs. She’s even comfortable sharing her world with cats!

Now that she’s had a taste of the good life in foster, Ashley is ready for the next chapter: a forever home where she can keep making memories, soaking up the sun, and giving her people all the love she has to offer.

Ashley has spent enough time waiting for someone to find her. Maybe this weekend, she’ll finally find you.

🌶️ Meet Curry — a little spice, a whole lot of sweet.

Curry may have had a bit of a rough start. He was found wandering the neighborhood for several days before coming to Rochester Animal Services, and when he arrived, he was coughing and appeared to be limping on one of his back legs.

But through it all, Curry has shown us who he really is: a happy, affectionate young dog with a tail that never seems to stop wagging.

At just 1 year old, he has so much life ahead of him. He loves treats, takes them gently, and gives some seriously good kisses. Most of all, he’s ready for someone to give him the love, patience, and stability he deserves.

Sometimes the dogs who need a fresh start are the ones who have the most love left to give.

💗 HEY THERE, SNORKEL! 💗

She may have only been with us a short time, but Snorkel is already making it very clear that she has a LOT of love to give.

At 6 years old, this sweet girl isn’t asking for much. She wants a person to nuzzle up against, a lap to curl into, some gentle butt scratches, and someone who will appreciate her happy tail and endless wiggles. She’s the kind of dog who reminds you that sometimes the best moments are the simple ones — sitting together, getting a few kisses, and knowing you’re finally home.

Snorkel is looking for the family who will see all that sweetness and say, “Yep. She’s ours.”

Snorkel has tested positive for heartworm and requires a Heartworm Waiver at adoption. She also has a small, non-invasive dermal lump on her right side and requires a Lumps & Bumps Waiver.

Snorkel doesn’t know what a waiver is. She only knows that she wants to be close to you. She knows how to nuzzle into your side, curl up in your lap, give kisses, wiggle with happiness, and make every day feel a little warmer. She is waiting for someone who will look past the paperwork, see her beautiful heart, and say, “You’re worth it. I’m not giving up on you.”

Because further diagnostics could not be performed at the shelter, her adopter will need to follow up with a veterinarian to determine the appropriate long-term plan and assume any associated costs. We know those words may feel heavy. But behind the waivers is simply a sweet, loving dog who still deserves the chance to be someone’s girl.

Snorkel is ready to fill the rest of her story with cuddles, kisses, happy wiggles, and a family of her very own.

Our Pet of the Week is Falcor✨

At just 2 years old, Falcor is one happy pup who’s ready to find a family to call his own!

This playful guy would love an active family who will keep him busy, give him plenty of opportunities to explore, and—of course—make time for lots of play! He loves heading out on walks with his people and taking in all the sights and smells along the way.
