Our Free Cat Vaccine Clinic is back this Sunday! 🐱💉

From 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, Rochester residents can stop by 448 Smith St. for free rabies and FVRCP vaccinations for their cats. This drive-up clinic is hosted by Rochester Animal Services in partnership with Keller's Kats Rescue Inc., helping make essential pet care more accessible for our community.

Important reminders:
- Walkers are welcome!
- No appointment needed. First come, first serve.
- Cats must be in a secure carrier with a closed lid or door.
- Cats displaying aggressive behavior may be denied service for safety. No feral cfats.
- Vaccines available while supplies last.
- FVRCP → 6 weeks and older | Rabies → 12 weeks and older.

🐾 THINK THIS IS YOUR PET?
Please come to Rochester Animal services as soon as possible to confirm ownership and reclaim them.
To reclaim your pet, bring:
° A photo ID
° A leash & collar for dogs OR a carrier for cats/small pets.
° Proof of ownership, such as:
• Vet/vaccine records
• Dog License
• Photos of your pet

📌 Important Hold Information:
° Pets with microchips or other ID tags/forms of identification: We will attempt to contact owners, please make sure your contact information is up to date. Owners will have 10 days to reclaim them.
° Pets without identification are held for a minimum of 3 days before becoming eligible for adoption.

🐾 Foster Pet of the Week: Gabriel 🐾

Some dogs chase tennis balls. Gabriel chases adventure...and sticks.

This sweet 2-year-old boy has been busy perfecting his skills as a garden explorer, stick collector, and professional cuddle companion. Whether he's investigating the backyard, zooming through the grass, or settling in for a well-earned nap, Gabriel is happiest when he's close to his people.

He's still learning the ropes of home life and working on his manners, but he's making great progress and loves earning treats for a job well done. His foster family says he's a gentle, affectionate pup who leans right in for pets and scratches whenever he gets the chance.

Looking for a best friend who will help you inspect every garden bed, celebrate every stick discovery, and then curl up beside you afterward? Gabriel is ready to apply for the position. 💙

Sixteen years ago, Patti walked into RAS with an idea for her wedding anniversary.

Instead of gifts, she asked for donations from the shelter’s wishlist after seeing a news story about animals in need at RAS. She and her husband Jim came to drop them off, and something clicked.

This is where they wanted to spend their time.

“Whatever they needed!” said Jim. “from cleaning kennels, to doing dishes…you name it!” Walking dogs, helping wherever they could, over the years, their love for the animals here only grew stronger.

Soon, more volunteers started showing up. Jim and Patti helped train 6 new volunteers. Today, RAS has a volunteer program consisting of nearly 200 people strong - and their fingerprints are part of this program’s foundation!

Even now, they continue showing up for the animals and the community: transporting pets to rescue partners, helping around the shelter, supporting our pet food pantry, and even donating holiday meals - including whole turkeys - to help the families who rely on our pantry keep their pets at home and enjoy a warm holiday meal together. 💙

And somewhere along the way…they adopted 17 dogs from Rochester Animal Services to date!

Then, just two weeks ago, they experienced heartbreaking loss, losing both of their beloved dogs to age and illness.

“We just can’t not have a dog in the house,” Patti said. “So I went online to see who you guys had…and she just popped!”

She…is Tesla 💚

The same Tesla whose body was trying to deliver puppies that were already gone, underwent emergency surgery after being found abandoned, who fought through pain, loss, and recovery…still wagging her tail through it all.

And now, Tesla is dog number 18 for Jim and Patti! 🐶

After everything she’s been through, it’s comforting to know she landed with people who spent nearly two decades dedicating their hearts to shelter animals like her.

Some stories come full circle in the most unexpected ways.

There is still time to register for the 20th anniversary celebration of The Fast & The Furriest 🐾 where there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy! We plan to make this our best year yet so join us this Saturday, June 6th to help raise money for the pets in need in our community!
