🍰🎃 IT’S NATIONAL DESSERT DAY, AND WE’VE GOT A LITTLE PUMPKIN SWEETNESS FOR YOU!

Meet Pumpkin, a cuddly orange-and-white kitten with a heart as sweet as his namesake dessert. This little guy had a rough start when he arrived at Rochester Animal Services, but with care and support from his foster family, he’s been getting the chance to feel better and show off his sweet side.

And what a sweetheart he is! Pumpkin loves to snuggle, enjoys pets, and has done well around other young adult cats and his foster family’s grandchildren. Basically, he’s the kind of sweetness you don’t have to share with anyone… except maybe the whole family. 🥹

🐾 NINE ADOPTIONS. NINE HAPPY NEW BEGINNINGS. 🧡

This Sunday’s fee-waived adoption day brought eight dogs and one cat into loving homes, and we couldn’t be happier for every single one of them!

A huge thank-you to our Rochester community for showing up, opening your hearts, and helping make these adoptions possible. Your support means so much to the animals who are still waiting for their turn.

And to Otto, Chester, Belinda, Pumpkin, Dunkin, Porter, Nathan, Stephanie, and Garbanzo — we’re wishing you the happiest furever with your new families. May your days be filled with cozy naps, full treat jars, endless affection, and all the love you deserve. 🏡💕

We’re also incredibly grateful to the ASPCA for making the Rescue Effect possible and helping us increase adoptions by giving more animals the opportunity to find loving homes. Thank you for being part of this effort!

Missed it? We still have 12 dogs in shelter, 17 dogs in foster, and 2 cats available for adoption.

Dog adoptions are just $50, with a $10 licensing fee for Rochester residents! Cat adoptions are just $35!

Visit www.CityofRochester.gov/RAS to see all available pets (and apply to adopt a foster 👀)!

Here’s to more happy tails and forever homes! 🐶🐱

💕 WARNING: MEETING BELINDA MAY RESULT IN ACQUIRING A VERY LOYAL SHADOW.

You know, someone who follows you from room to room. Someone who thinks your errands are interesting. Someone who believes personal space is a lovely concept, but perhaps not necessary at all times.

This playful, affectionate girl loves toys, treats, and being close to her favorite people. If it squeaks, rolls, or can be tossed, she’s interested. If you’re nearby, even better!

Belinda is currently going through heartworm treatment, so she’s looking forward to healing up and enjoying all the adventures ahead with her future family. In the meantime, she has plenty of love, wiggles, and gentle kisses to share.

And tomorrow, you can meet this sweet girl at the East Rochester Farmers Market!

And if you happen to have treats? Well, you’ve already made an excellent first impression. 😂

Falcor has also had positive experiences with other dogs in the play yard. He’d love a family ready to share adventures, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to keep that happy tail wagging.
