It is unfortunate that I have to explain this, but it also means it's not being said often enough. Groomers, even those who specialize in difficult cases, are not magicians. I deal with many hard-to-handle cases, both cats and dogs, and proudly advertise that. It brings me immense joy and pride when I review my clients' notes to discover how well they've improved from day one. That does not, nor will ever mean that I can magically groom any of them to perfection the first time I see them. My methodology focuses on long-term handling and comfort. It is to help you, the owner, to better prepare your pet for stressful situations and help determine if what is happening now a grooming issue or a medical issue. Yes, some things can overlap, but ultimately, if matting or long nails are causing and hiding infections and pain, it then has become a medical issue. The groomer's job is to help maintain the health and integrity of skin, coat and nails. We do not treat sores, infections, or injuries.

At the end of the day, if you are unable to prepare your pet for my services, whether that be through training or medication, I cannot help. I will not chase your pet down around the house, as that incites more fear. I will not hold your pet down and 'do it anyway.' That is against my code of ethics to help your pet learn that grooming is not scary and that strangers can be kind. I will provide information when asked and possible resources that can better help your pet's situation.

I completely understand my prices are often higher than most groomers in my area. I have continued my education to include behavior and pet psychology, giving me an advantage to 'read' your pet and understand their challenges to help them be more comfortable. I also use products imported from Italy that WORK on restoring coat and maintaining health and managability. I also provide resources for trainers, vets, end of life care, and products to help with your pet companion relationship at home. I also require my customers to fill out release forms to ensure your pet's experience here is as safe as possible with me!

I'm not for everyone, and that's fine! Transparency and communication is my number one priority so you can feel better about trusting your pet with me.

Now that I've calmed down, I wanted to give everyone a heads up that last night, my groom towels were stolen, along with a decent amount of my logo grooming shirts. They have my business name and logo on them. This warning is to let everyone know that I do NOT have employees, and I want everyone to be cautious about someone stating that they may be in case they want to access your home for 'house call' services.

In the meantime, I am currently working to replace my stuff, which is annoying as hell, but not the end of the world.
