Boone had a rough day on Tuesday. We knew Boone was struggling to defecate normally and it resulted in an a**l prolapse Tuesday around dinner time.

This led us to an emergency visit where the amazing team there was able to successfully put his butt back where it belongs, inside his body, without surgery. NOT the way we wanted things to happen but it did lead to a referral for an internal specialist for follow up because the emergency doctor noticed during this visit that Boone’s intestines are “abnormal”.

Unfortunately, none of this news has been very surprising to us but we are still sad our little guy is struggling but so happy we’re on the right track for some answers and hopefully…. Solutions.

Boone is bouncing back to his kind of normal and we are very thankful he was able to get the help he needed!

Ember is a sweet, loving girl who hasn’t met a person or animal she doesn’t like! This happy pup enjoys spending time outdoors, plays nicely with others, and is working hard on her potty training. At night, Ember sleeps in her crate with minimal barking or whining and settles in well.

Meet Boone. Boone is a Tree Walking Coonhound puppy who is 14 weeks old and should be at around 20 pounds at this point....

Meet Boone.

Boone is a Tree Walking Coonhound puppy who is 14 weeks old and should be at around 20 pounds at this point. He weighs about 8. He’s less than a third of the physical size of his littermates and right now, we don’t know why. He’s a little wobbly and unstable, loses his balance sometimes, holds his head low, really struggles to p**p normally, and his eyes point outward (known as divergent strabismus).

But Boone just wants to be a regular puppy, he loves to play with his friends and he loves to snuggle with his people. His hound nose works just fine and he loves to follow new smells. He might have a hard time keeping up but he doesn’t quit trying. In all, Boone has a lot going on and we are trying to learn why. Which means he’s going to need some significant care to figure this out.

Our next step is going to be an MRI, the low estimate of which is about $4000. Boone is looking for all the help he can get and ANY donation big or small will make a difference for him.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support RTPA today with our Pups on Park Pub Crawl! Everyone had such a great time and we got to get some of our foster pups out there too!

Meet Bean! This gentle little guy is 3 years old and has a calm, sweet personality. He’s a bit shy when you first meet him, but with a little patience and gentle handling, he warms up and shows his affectionate side. Bean enjoys quiet cuddle sessions, munching on fresh veggies, and having a cozy hideout. He’s looking for a peaceful home with someone who understands that it may take time for him to warm up and who can offer lots of love and understanding
