On Dr. Finkel’s last day at Heritage, members of our team gathered for a little farewell to celebrate the time we’ve shared with him.

Dr. Finkel has made a lasting impact through his genuine connections with patients and their people, and the thoughtfulness and compassion he brings to his work. The care he’s shown and the relationships he’s built have made him a meaningful part of Heritage.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our Open House! We had such an amazing turnout, with a steady stream of familiar faces coming through the doors all afternoon!

It was so special to welcome our clients and community into our new home and share a little more of what happens behind the scenes. From getting a closer look at the hospital and treatment areas to answering questions and catching up outside of a typical appointment, it was a wonderful day spent together.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support and enthusiasm you’ve shown throughout this new chapter. Having so many of you there to celebrate with us made the day even more meaningful.

We are excited to introduce the newest member of our medical team, Dr. Shaynee Belau!

Dr. Belau will officially join Heritage Pet Hospital on Tuesday, October 6, stepping into the role of Lead Surgeon. In addition to seeing patients and performing surgery, she will play an important role in mentoring and supporting our newer veterinarians as they continue to grow their skills and experience.

Dr. Belau brings a strong background in surgery, emergency and urgent care, and veterinary mentorship. She previously served as Lead Veterinarian at a high-volume surgical clinic and has performed thousands of elective and emergency surgical procedures throughout her career.

Beyond her clinical experience, what really stood out to us about Dr. Belau is her commitment to collaborative patient care, mentorship, and providing compassionate, evidence-based medicine. We feel she will be a wonderful addition to our already skilled and experienced medical team.

Dr. Belau will be available for appointments beginning Friday, October 9, and we are excited for our clients and patients to get to know her!

Please join us in giving Dr. Belau a warm Heritage welcome. We are thrilled to have her on our team and look forward to this next chapter for Heritage Pet Hospital.

Dr. Finkel's last day with us will be Thursday, October 8th.

We are so thankful for the time we've had with him and wish him the best as he spends some much needed time with family and moving on to new adventures!

Heritage Pet Hospital will be closed Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. We will reopen at 7:30 AM on Tuesday, September 8th for our regular business hours.

If your pet experiences a medical emergency while we are closed, please contact Allied Veterinary Emergency & Referral in Stewartville at 507-900-5600.
