I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone that has reached out. It means the world to me.

We started the day yesterday scared but hopeful that I would be rid of Brad. Unfortunately, during induction of anesthesia, they encountered something unusual and were unable to successfully intubate me. My pulse ox went down into the 20s.

I woke up in ICU, and had developed pulmonary edema (fluid in my lungs).

They canceled my surgery and I have been in the hospital on oxygen since then.

36ish hours later, I have the worst sore throat and a rough headache but my lungs are back to normal.

I am just going to have a bit of a pity party. Then I will figure out how to plow through and plan for the next attempt.

My Dearest Clients and Patients,

I wanted to write you all to let you know about some short term changes to the practice.

As many of you know, I have been dealing with abdominal pain for months now even requiring an emergency room visit in November. After many doctors and even more tests, they have found a 14cm cystic mass on my o***y! While the doctors assure me that things will be ok, I have to have pretty urgent surgery.

I will be doing my best to minimize my time out of the office because your pets are a top priority for me. But we will have to reschedule some appointments and wait times may be longer than usual. The goal is to be out May 7th and 8th and return with fewer appointments the following week. If all things go according to plan, normal business will resume the following week.

Several people have already asked what they can do to help. Being extra caring and gentle with my wonderful staff would be the biggest help! This is obviously so very stressful for them.

It is truly an honor to be trusted with the care of your beautiful babies. I am excited to get through this chapter and I am very thankful for your grace and sympathy as we work through the next several weeks.

Huge shoutout to our Reception staff, Tiffany, Julie, Marial, Carson, Mattie and Alyssa!!! You are all rockstars and we are so happy to have each one of you here at MHVP!

Exciting things are happening! We are changing the look of the front lobby! The Reception area is being moved into Room 1 (windows being placed within the walls to walk up to), and the new Room 1 will be built over where the balcony overlooks.
That will be done before we move the reception area so we are not without an exam room at any given time.
Work will be taking place after hours so we are not scaring our furry friends but please excuse our dust (and our shifting furniture) as we improve the flow of the office. 🐶🐱

Manitou Hill will be 🐾PAW-sing🐾 to spend time with our families this week.
Please note that we will be closing at 2:00pm on Wed, 11/26/25, and Closed all day on Thurs, 11/27/25. We will be back to our regular hours on Friday!
Please be mindful of things your pets can and can't have over the holiday. If you don't know, please do a quick look up. Let's keep our babies safe this holiday season!

This year, we have decided to do a Holiday Giving Tree to help support the local rescues, who have supported us throughout the last few years. We appreciate all of the hard work that rescues do, day in and day out, and appreciate that they trust our practice for their rescue friends’ health concerns.
We have our Giving Tree set up in our lobby with paper ornaments, labeled with rescue’s names who have opted to participate, and items needed. You are welcome to take the paper ornaments with you, if you’d like. There are also lists for each rescue who is participating on the wall, next to the tree, that you may take a photo of if you’d like. All items bought for the rescues can be returned to the practice and each rescue will come pick up their items by Christmas Eve.
If it’s easier, I have also asked each participating rescue to provide an Amazon wish list link below. If you order from their individual wish list they will be shipped directly to the rescue. Thank you to all who decide to help these local rescues continue what they do to help our furry friends. Any and all items will be so appreciated.
