Veterinary Technician Week Day 3

Day 3 of Veterinary Technician Week brought a little DIY fun to our team. Our technicians got to create their own car air fresheners using their favorite essential oils.

A big thank you to everyone who helps make this week special for our veterinary technicians. From patient care to the little things that brighten their day, we appreciate all the hard work, compassion, and dedication our team brings to Rochester Veterinary Hospital every day.

Happy Veterinary Technician Week - Day 2!

We're keeping the celebrations going at RVH! Our break room got a little extra festive with some new decorations, and our team was surprised with the cutest tumbler from our hospital manager, Deanna!

Thank you, Deanna, for thinking of us and heling make this week special. We appreciate all the little things that make our team feel valued and celebrated.

Today was the first day of Veterinary Technician week in clinic for our LVT’s!

Dr. Totin brought them in a bunch of goodies to fuel their days!

Dr. Lindhurst bought them Chinese from Oceania Inn for lunch, not pictured as they dug into it right away! 😂

This week we’re celebrating Veterinary Technician Week and honoring the incredible work our Licensed Veterinary Technicians do every single day.

Our LVTs are an essential part of our veterinary team. They wear many hats and play a vital role in providing compassionate, high quality care to every patient who walks through our doors. From assisting with examinations and surgeries, monitoring anesthesia and patients, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, administering medications and treatments, taking radiographs, running laboratory tests, caring for hospitalized patients, educating pet parents, and so much more. Their knowledge, skill, compassion, and dedication make a difference every day.

Being a LVT takes patience, strength, knowledge, teamwork and a huge amount of heart. Our LVTs are there for our patients during some of their happiest moments and their most difficult ones, always working behind the scenes to help keep them safe, comfortable and well cared for.

This week, and every week, we want to recognize and thank our amazing LVTs: Crystal, Kat, Amanda & Tatum.

We appreciate everything you do for our patients, our clients, and our entire team. Thank you for all the hard work, long days, compassion, and dedication you give every day. We are so lucky to have you on our team.

Why is f***l testing important for your pet?

Intestinal parasites can affect both dogs and cats, and some pets may carry them without showing any obvious signs of illness. That’s why bringing a fresh f***l sample to your pet’s veterinary visit is an important part of their routine preventive care.

F***l testing helps us detect intestinal parasites, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and certain intestinal protozoa, so we can recommend the appropriate treatment.

Why does it matter?

Helps detect parasites that may not cause noticeable symptoms.

Allows us to treat infections before they lead to more significant health concerns.

Helps protect other pets in your household and, in some cases, people too.

Supports your pet’s overall health and wellness.

Even indoor pets can be at risk for intestinal parasites, so routine testing is important for both dogs and cats.

At Rochester Veterinary Hospital, we recommend checking your pet’s f***l sample as part of their preventive care. Ask our team when your pet is due for their next f***l test.

Have you ever caught yourself thinking..."Maybe they're just slowing down"?
