A huge THANK YOU to Simmons Landscaping LLC for helping beautify the Zoo as we head into our busy high-season!

They've been hard at work freshening things up around the Zoo, and we really appreciate all the time and effort they put in to help make the grounds look amazing for our guests. From fresh landscaping touches to making our grounds even more welcoming for guests, their hard work is helping the Zoo look its very best for all the families, members, and visitors joining us this season.

We truly appreciate community partners like Simmons Landscaping who help make the zoo experience even more special. We've included some photos from all their hard work but be sure to keep an eye out for all the beautiful improvements during your next visit! 🐾

Today we are celebrating Endangered Species Day! 🌎🐾

Did you know that more than 47,000 species worldwide are currently considered under threat? Here at Mill Mountain Zoo, we care for several threatened species, including some of the animals pictured.

Conservation happens in many ways, and one of the biggest ways we help is through education, teaching our guests, those in outreaches throughout the SWVA area, and field trips about these amazing animals and the challenges they face in the wild. We also participate in SAFE programs supporting Red Wolf conservation, as well as SSPs (Species Survival Plans) for several of our other species.

Every visit to the zoo helps support conservation, education, and a future for wildlife. 🦊🐧🐍
