The bettas have officially taken over the fish room. 😅

This week’s shipment brought in some absolute showstoppers, including a Rosetail Radium, a Black/Blue Avatar Halfmoon, an American Flag Halfmoon, and a bunch of other bettas that are way too nice to sit in photos for long.

We’ve also been busy unpacking boxes all week, so the store is packed with new products, fresh livestock, and plenty of both freshwater and saltwater fish. Whether you’re hunting for that centerpiece fish you’ve been missing or just stopping by to see what’s new, there’s a good chance you’ll leave with a longer shopping list than you planned.

If it’s been a while since you’ve stopped in, now’s a good time to change that. The fish room is looking full, the coral tanks are stocked, and the betta selection is probably the best it’s been in a while.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend Hours 🇺🇸

Just a quick update on our holiday weekend schedule at Alien Aquatics!

Friday: 11 AM – 7 PM
⚠️ Please note: today we will be temporarily closed from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM for a doctor’s appointment.

Saturday: 11 AM – 6 PM

Sunday: 11 AM – 5 PM

Monday (Memorial Day): CLOSED

As we take time with family and friends this weekend, we also want to recognize and honor the brave men and women of our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

It's been a long while but we FINALLY got our fish stocklist caught up and updated!
We will be bringing in more fish on Friday evening after we attend this years Carolina Aquatics open house! We can't wait for everyone to see what we come back with!

Come say hi and visit us at the 2026 Boones Mill kids fishing rodeo this Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM! 

FAQ: 2026 Town of Boones Mill Fishing Rodeo

No pre-registration. Registration will begin at 8am, Saturday morning.
Register when you arrive- registration tent will be located at Carter Park (signs will point you in the right direction). You'll receive a wristband and a ticket for a prize at the Alien Aquatics display at the registration locations.

Parking: available in the fenced in area off of Boones Mill Road (signs will be up), also available at the Depot.

Not gonna lie, this might be one of the most oddly satisfying bettas we’ve seen in a minute. Spoken for already but absolutely had to share this “67” Blue Panda Betta 🤩 🤚 🖐️

Sunday fun day 🤩 with high temps in Roanoke reaching into the 80’s today, we hope everyone enjoys themselves! We are open from 11-5 today! This beautiful plumed scorpionfish was hand picked by us at Carolina Aquatics
on Friday! This super unique species is sure to ✨ AMAZE ✨ your friends and family!

We just got some really nice Clavularia clove polyps in at Alien Aquatics and they look awesome. Great movement, bright color, and super easy to keep — perfect for just about any reef tank.

They’re in stock now, so stop by and check them out before they disappear 👀🐠
